Today, we'll be taking a look at the Furrion RV Outdoor Receptacle Cover. It's going to keep your outdoor outlets protected from any inclimate weather. It's going to be spring-loaded so it'll snap back whenever you drop that lid, whenever you unplug your items. It fits a universal standard rectangle. So, if you have just two AC plugs on the outside of your RV, it'll fit that. It's made of a UV stable, high-impact, resistant plastic.
So, it'll be able to withstanding out on the road.You want to keep this at a relatively protected area if you can. There's a little warning at the bottom that says "Wet location only if covered." So, you don't really want to be using this in a rainstorm without that cover. But with our cover there, it's going to protect that outlet from any kind of dirt or debris or water from getting in there and causing issues with that wiring connection.Comes in white. The mounting holes have to be drilled out the solid mount right now. You can see that there's already little imprints where your holes would be.
So, the four around the outside, that would be to mount up this cover itself and then the two on either end would be to mount up your plug for that rectangle receptacle. That's going to measure about two and 5/8 long, that opening there, and about one and 1/4 wide. The outside housing is about four and 3/4 inches wide by three and 1/4 according to that little tab there.Coming off of our RV, it's about 3/4 of an inch deep and it does have a little bit of a gasket going around those connections but it wouldn't be a bad idea to throw some sealant on there to make sure that it's a really well-protected connection. You will also have to pick up some hardware to go with this. Since those holes have to be drilled out, it'll kind of depend on what size you pick for drill bit but most likely you'd want something that's about an eight inch in diameter or maybe 1/4.
This does comes with a five year warranty from Furrion, and that's going to do it for our look at the Furrion RV Outdoor Receptacle Cover.
