Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at these Demco side plates. These are going to replace the side plates on your 31,000-pound capacity Demco Hijacker UMS fifth-wheel trailer hitch. This is going to be a direct replacement for the part number that you see on the screen there. That is designed for your 2011 and newer Ford trucks with the factory-installed towing prep package.

So if you originally had that and you're looking to replace the side plates, this is going to be exactly what you need. Or if you already have a Demco Hijacker that has a different mounting system but you've just recently got a newer Ford that has that factory towing prep package. you're wanting to utilize that, this will be a great way of giving you the ability to use some of those original components. So you don't have to get a whole new fifth-wheel hitch, and it will still allow you to use those factory pucks that are there. So the way this will work, you've got this pin on the side here.

So you'll open these up, and then this will drop right into the four receiver pucks built into your factory underbed rails. Once they're in place, you just twist these, and that's going to lock them in place. Then we've got the pin here to ensure that these are unable to wiggle free as we're traveling down the road and that sort of thing. So it is going to be very easy to put in place on your Fords with those factory pucks. This is constructed a sturdy steel.

It's kind of wobbly right now because I only have it loosely assembled. But once you have it fully assembled, it is going to be very solid for you. It is going to give you that 31,000-pound weight capacity when combined with the saddle bracket and the head unit. It does also have this black powder coat finish that's gonna help resist corrosion and be a nice long-lasting option for you. So you are going to get two side plates, two braces, and the hardware needed to put these together with this kit.

So obviously, you're gonna need a few more components, the saddle bracket, the head unit. So it's not a full hitch. But if you are already using most of those components already, this is gonna be a great replacement for those other original side plates. Because this is a replacement from Demco, you're not gonna have to worry about compatibility issues or anything like that. It is gonna fit right in place of those originals, get you up and operational again.
