Depth Measurement For Hubs That Fit A 1" Straight Spindle

Question:

I am looking for a trailer hub for a 1inch diameter spindle that is 3 3/4 inches long from the inner bearing landing to the end of the threads. It is for an old Sterling boat trailer that only has the wheel with casalated nut and cotter pin.

We do have hubs available for a 1" straight spindle in part # AKIHUB-440-2-EZ-1K. This hub measures 4-1/4" deep so it will run a bit longer than the hub you are looking for. There are a total of 4 hubs that we carry for a 1" straight spindle and all 4 would be identical as far as depth. A lot of these older boat trailers use hubs that are trailer specific, and it may prove very difficult to find.

We do carry replacement spindles like part # TRU59FR, if you want to change it out for a more "standard" spindle. You can use that with the hubs # AKIHUB-440-2-G-EZ-1K. The spindles can be tricky to install and you would want to take your trailer to a professional welder or axle shop.

We also have replacement axles if that is something you want to look into. I would want to confirm the length of the current axle, but something like part # e25GR would be a potential replacement. This axle is 60" long from hub face to hub face and is rated for 2,000 lbs.

I can also provide the cotter pin # 165649 and castle nut # 165686 if you are in need.
