Replacement Suspension Parts & Lift For 2012 Skyline Koala 27CDS With 3,500 lb Axles

Question:

Hello I have a 2012 skyline koala 27cds. I need to replace the whole under carriage. Everything except axle tubes.i uploaded pics of the parts list Ive tracked down so far. As well theres some diagrams of measurements of the leaf springs no weight. Equalizers. I already have part. LC696740, MR46ZR. I need to know if those will work on this application. I also attached pics of original suspension system. I need to lift this 5th wheel as high as possible.and replace the leaf springs shackles, hubs, brakes, I need to order this stuff as soon as possible. As I use this for work. I bought a bigger truck when I was in CALIFORNIA two weeks ago. And Im leaving my house in NY on the 8th of July. As I need to be in Missouri for my first job. I travel around 1000 to 2000 miles a week. Every weekend Im on the highway. So I want to be as safe as possible. I have the airborne elite king pin. I have E-16 reciever. I also have the Curt Crosswing. As up to Two weeks ago I was towing with. A 2017 Ram ecodiesel. But after taking it to Cali and it has 160k on Her. I bought a Ram 2500 6.7 Cummins. So the 5Th wheel isnt level to the truck. So what ever I need to lift and cushion ride to best of ability and as cost effective as possible would be great. Ive already lowered the king pin and receiver as low as possible. Please help Ive asked several others and im missing a few pieces to complete this completely. The weight rating is 3500 k per axle. Im running a 14 inch tire currently. But Im probably gonna need to increase size of those. And Id like to get a 10 ply tire with a 80 mph hour rating. Thank you for your time in this matter. I looked forward to your answers and appreciate the help greatly. Thanks

Okay let's get started here with the suspension for your 2012 Skyline Koala 27CDS with 3,500 lb Axles; for the first part regarding your equalizers and suspension upgrade kit, so long as your current equalizer is spaced 6 inches (or close to it - I am unable to tell from your parts list if the drawing of the equalizers are your measurements or referencing something else) apart from bolt hole to bolt hole you can use the Road Armor Shock Absorbing Equalizer Kit # LC696740 with the MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit # MR46ZR.

To be thorough, if instead your equalizer measures longer from bolt hole to bolt hole - 7-3/4" or close to it - then the upgrade kit you can use that includes the equalizers as well as suspension hardware is the Dexter E-Z Flex Suspension Kit # K71-653-00.

You can also use the Correct Track Lift Kit # RR23QX, and because you have a 3,500 lb axle, you are good on the hub and drum and brakes you mentioned, you just need the mounting hardware for the brakes:

- Easy Grease Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 3.5K Axles # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K
- TruRyde Electric Trailer Brake Kit # TRU36FR
- Mounting Bolts and Hardware for 10" Brake Assemblies # BRKH10A

If you'd like you can also replace the U-bolts for your 3,500 lb axle with the U-Bolts # SP01-040, and while there are no 10 ply, 15 inch tires, the ply won't be of much significance so long as the tires have the proper load range, and since you want a larger tire you also need a larger wheel, so what you can get is the Karrier ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire with 15" White Spoke Wheel # AM32395.

This has the correct bolt pattern for your hub and drum, has an 81 mph speed rating, and is a load range C tire with a 1,820 lb capacity, which is plenty for your trailer. The only thing we are unable to provide are the leaf springs, as unfortunately we do not have any in the approximate 21" length you need that are rated correctly.
