Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies to access this harness.

T-One Connection Location Points Behind Tail Lights

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

Great fit fast service. Parts make a very clean trailer connection for my truck.

by:
2007 Dodge Dakota

This arrived pretty quickly, was packaged well and was very well made, instructions were simple and it worked great today, the seals at the connections were very good quality and should give years of reliable use, my dakota has a strange wiring harness for the rear lights like none I have ever seen and this harness was hard to find but etrailer had it and for a very reasonable price and fair shipping. Thanks for the excellent quality and availability.

It has been great, no problems at all and holding up fine, great product thanks.

You'll deliver a quality product in a timely fashion at a fair price.
What more can a person ask for.

by:

Worked great, unfortunately it was lost when the poor packaging damaged the box and parts were lost. Shawnee was great and handled the replacement quickly but the shipping dept just sent it 3-5 day ups instead of rushing it.

2004 Dodge Dakota

I have placed two orders with etrailer and have been very pleased with their service and product quality. I really appreciated viewing their videos on how to install a light kit and trailer hitch on my pickup truck. I recommend etrailer and when my needs warrant it will not hesitate to order whatever I need.

by:

The trailer hitch was complete.. There was no drilling. All i had to do was remove 2 bolts. The instructions
were easy to understand. The hardest part was removing the 2 bolts. I would recommend this product to anyone it only took about 30 minutes to install. Top quality and cheaper than factory.

by:
2006 Dodge Dakota

Plugs right in, easy 15 min install. No cutting/butt connected wires. I used this connector to run down to a 7 flat trailer plug. Now just install the brake controller and wiring for that and I'm ready to tow my camper. If you don't need a brake controller this wiring would be all you need for a utility or boat trailer with no brakes

by:

It was what I heeded. The electrical connectors were a snug fit and the wires were long enough to reach where they were supposed to go to. Thank you.

by:

Really easy to install and my test light set shows its working perfectly. Heck of a lot easier than trying to track down the break in the wiring in my old harness. Well worth the cost.

by:

I received it this morning . Hooked it up in about 20 minutes tested it. All good. Directions were not great. Could have been much more detailed about which tail light plug to use. But I had googled it on You tube.

by:
2004 Dodge Dakota

Trailer hitch and harness installed in under 1 hour.
Delivered on time. Video install guides a plus.
Product performed as described.
very satisfied.

by:
2007 Mitsubishi Raider

Just finished installing and testing. Everything went well and works as expected, install is pretty intuitive and easy. I like the fact that they matched the plugs to the factory specs so things will only plug in one way. I recommend getting some extra wire ties to go around the plugs and keep them tight, especially if one of the factory retaining clips snaps off like mine did.

by:

Package was delivered on time, the simplicity of do it your self installation was superb. I will definitely recommend it to anyone who need trailer lighting.

by:

Easy to install, found a step-by-step video on YouTube.

Still working fine.

Perfect fit and easy installation.

I am familar with draw-tite. Excellent quality. This company etrailer are a class operation. You call with a question and they have a CORRECT answer for you. Deliver of ordered items is prompt. This is my first time dealing with them but not my last. Everything about them is 5 star.

by:
Dodge Dakota

The harness is easy to install and works fine. However, it is designed for my truck yet is far too long. I have almost 8 feet too much cable. Moreover, with the Dakota truck design there isn't anywhere to place it or tie it off. I had to rig a spot to the hitch frame but it isn't the best. If you don't care about aesthetics than it is decent.

by:

this product was so easy to use...way better than splicing lines !
would definitely use this product again if needed!
And would definitely suggest anyone else to use this product and order from etrailer.com...as was quick order & delivery.

by:
2006 Mitsubishi Raider

Easy install, clear directions. Works as advertised. Good quality parts and connectors. All set to tow. All went smoothly.

by:

I received it today and within 45 minutes it was installed and working properly. A lot easier than I thought it would be. Very simple directions. Very satisfied.

  • Recommended 7-Way Wiring Connection and Brake Controller for 2006 Dodge Dakota
On your 2006 Dodge Dakota if you have the factory 7-way then the connection would be right at your bumper. If this is present, then you can simply use the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers - Dodge # 3020-P which will plug in under your dash to the left of the steering column taped to another harness near the emergency brake pedal. If you do not have the factory 7-way, then you will need to hardwire your brake controller using the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness...

  • Parts Needed to Install 7-Way and Brake Controller on 2006 Dodge Dakota
The first thing you need to install is a 4-way on your 2006 Dodge Dakota which for that you'd want the Tekonsha part # 118323 and you'd be set. Then to convert the 4-way to a 7-way you'd need the part # ETBC7 which also comes with everything needed to install a brake controller like our very popular P2 part # 90885. The # ETBC7 will also allow you to have a 4-way as well.

The trailer wiring harness part # 118323 that you referenced is the correct harness for your 2007 Mitsubishi Raider. It does not have a converter on the harness though so that indicates that it picks up a stoplight circuit directly from the harness and the vehicle does not use variable voltage for stoplight activation. That style of taillight circuit is referred to as multi-plexed.
