Question:
Is my o6 Dakota has the brake controller plug under the dash where would I find the connector in the rear of the truck?

On your 2006 Dodge Dakota if you have the factory 7-way then the connection would be right at your bumper. If this is present, then you can simply use the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers - Dodge # 3020-P which will plug in under your dash to the left of the steering column taped to another harness near the emergency brake pedal.
If you do not have the factory 7-way, then you will need to hardwire your brake controller using the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118323 and then # ETBC7 wiring kit.
If you have the factory tow package then you will simply use the Multi-Plug T-One Connector Assembly for 7-Way & 4 Pole Trailer Connector # 20135 on your factory plug located near the bumper.
If you don't yet have a brake controller, I recommend the Prodigy P3 # 90195 which is a customer favorite due to the LCD screen and the preset options for boost. I've attached some videos to assist.
