Yes, you will need to run two power wires to the battery when installing the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller part # ETBC7. The first power wire that goes to the 4-way is for the converter and that's what actually powers the trailer lights. The second power wire that goes to the 7-way is for powering a battery on the trailer if equipped. If you don't have a battery on the trailer then the second power wire is not needed but the first is. view full answer...
Curt is the only hitch manufacturer that I am aware of that has a strap requirement on some of their trailer hitches. Draw-Tite does not have that requirement. The purpose of the strap is to reduce some of the stress on the hitch when using hitch mounted accessories such as a bike rack or cargo carrier. When there is an option we tend to recommend a hitch that does not require the strap.
The strap in question is # 18050 and I have linked a video showing how it works. view full answer...

The heat shield needs to be removed in order to install the Draw-Tite # DT74MR on your 2020 Hyundai Sonata because it prevents the hitch from being in direct contact with the mounting surface on the underside of the vehicle.
The good news is that the steel the hitch is constructed of will serve the same purpose as the heat shield, which is to isolate the vehicle underbody from the heat generated by the exhaust. In other words, removing the heat shield to install the hitch will not have... view full answer...
Disappointingly, Kat's Heaters was unable to provide any specific information on installation procedure or location over and above what's mentioned in the installation instructions which appear to have been incorrect. We did however have a customer who managed to complete a successful installation and sent along the procedure he used and some photos from the installation.
Here's the procedure he so graciously provided:

To access the wires that supply power to the taillights at the rear of the 2011 Hyundai Tuscon, you will need to remove two Phillips head screws that hold the taillight assemblies in place, see photo link. After the screws are removed, carefully work the taillight assembly straight out from the rear of the vehicle, wiggling it slightly side to side.
Once you have the tail light assembly pulled away from the vehicle you will be able to access the wiring connectors for installing a 4-Way... view full answer...

Actually, removing the heat shield when installing the Draw-Tite # 24965 receiver hitch on your 2016 Hyundai Sonata isn't a problem because the hitch itself provides more heat protection than the flimsy sheet metal that the heat shield is constructed of. Removing a portion of or even all the heat shield is a pretty common occurrence when installing a trailer hitch. I've linked the installation video for reference.

Looking at the installation instructions, as well as the video, trimming will not be required for the installation of the # e28AR. It appears as though the removal of panels only applies to the Kia Sorento, not your 2023 Santa Fe. However, you will have to lower the exhaust to be able to access the weld nuts.
I have attached the installation video below, along with the written instructions for your reference. view full answer...
Instead of starting with a tap, I recommend instead a good thorough cleaning using a penetrate like WD-40 and a wire brush like # DW00254. You can spray down the holes, let it set for about 10 minutes, and then run the wire brush vigorously in the holes. You may have to do this several times to thoroughly clean the holes. It just takes a little time and some elbow grease, but cleaning the holes will not run the risk of damaging the threads like a tap would.
