Thank you for your purchase of the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98851. The issue with an exhaust/muffler coming into contact with a hitch isn't a wholly unusual one, but you'll need to examine the underside where the hitch is mounted to locate the exact issue.

If you have not detected a short or a faulty ground then the likely issue is that the factory wiring that you plugged the harness into must have some feature that does not allow the harness to be fully functional if the motor is turned off.
Presumably though if the motor is off then you wouldn't be moving and the brake lights and turn signals do not have to work. But for testing purposes, that would be a little annoying.

If you had the Tekonsha 7-way # 118253 or another brand installed in your 2011 Honda Pilot and there wasn't power present on the pins of the connector you most likely have blown fuses. What you will want to do is test the wires going into the box of the converter box for voltage with a circuit tester like the # PTW2993 to see if there is voltage going into the box when the taillight functions of your vehicle are applied, and then test the output side of the box to see if the current is making it through the converter. I am not sure what towing module they are talking about. If your 2007 Honda Ridgeline came with the factory tow package that included a 7-Way trailer connector at the back then the only reason any part of the towing package would be missing is if someone removed it. It is also possible that the 7-Way on the vehicle is not a factory 7-Way.

If you weren't able to get the 12M x 1.25 bolts for the etrailer.com Trailer Hitch Receiver # E98862 started even after applying WD40 and cleaning out the weld nuts with a wire brush # 814092 on your 2007 Honda Odyssey the next step is to use the 12 mm x 1.25 tap and drill bit to use drill power to clean out the threads. Typically cleaning the threads with the brush will do the trick but since that isn't working for your application the tap is what you need.

The only ways I can see the left turn and brake functions swapping on your CR-V is if the plug was either installed at a different orientation or the wiring kit itself is messed up. Since these plugs can only fit 1 specific way it sounds like the T-Connector you purchased is a bad unit and I recommend pursuing the limited 1-year warranty that comes with the wiring.

The first thing you are going to want to do is take a circuit tester and test the red wire just before it enters the converter box. If you do not have power here then test this wire again just before the fuse holder. If still no power then there is most likely an issue in the vehicle's tow package wiring and you will need to take it into the dealer to have it troubleshooted.

Your owner's manual should show the exact location of the fuse box you need to get access to, but it will be the smaller one in the engine compartment of your 2020 Honda Pilot. There are a number of wiring situations for the 6-Way square connector. Your trailer may have a battery, trailer brakes and/or backup lights, along with the taillights, left stop and turn light, right stop and turn light and ground wire.
