Before wiring your 2001 Honda CR-V with diodes, you will need to determine if it has combined tail light wiring or separate tail light wiring. Combined tail light wiring carries the turn and brake signals on the same circuit and one bulb on each side of the vehicle carries the running lights, brake lights, and turn signal functions behind a red lens.
On a vehicle with a separate tail light wiring system, the turn signals are on a separate circuit from brake lights, often carried behind a separate lens. I believe that your CR-V has a separate system. You will need at least 4 diodes to wire it like a combined system, or 6 diodes to wire it like a separate system. To retain all the separate tail light function (separate system), you would also need to use Vehicle to Vehicle Taillight Converter, # 118158. I have included a link to an FAQ article that explains how to wire in diodes on a vehicle with a separate system.
I have also included a link to an FAQ article that explains the combined wiring system should you determine your CR-V has a combined system. If you are still not receiving signals coming out from the diodes then there may be a problem with the internal components and the offending diodes will need to be replaced.
