Bias Tires vs. Radial Tires
Bias ply tires are designed for off-road or agricultural applications. They are built with thick, durable nylon cords that are positioned at a 30- to 45-degree angle to the direction of travel. The layers alternate in a crisscross pattern, making the sidewalls stiffer so that the entire tire is able to flex easily. As a result, the tire provides a smooth ride and improved handling when trailering on uneven surfaces.
Determining the Bolt Pattern
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.
- If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
- If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
- If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"

The etrailer staff was great at helping me with this order. I needed these wheels with tires to rejuvenate a 1997 Coleman Destiny Taos popup camper that has been sitting in the north woods for 17 years. The wheels fit perfectly and the tires worked like a charm for me to drive the camper about 100 miles to my home. Although rated for faster speed, I kept my speed limited to 65 miles per hour. I had purchased three so that I could also replace the spare tire. I expect these tires will get me through many many more miles after I put my rebuilt camper back into service. I am very happy with the etrailer staff and with my purchase.

Glad to review this item. I had just picked up a 1992 JetSki for my grand kids to use on vacation. It was a rust bucket trailer but the JetSki needed to be cleaned up. I replaced just about everything on the trailer it did not have a spare tire nor a place to put it. I had been looking at the etrailer web site and found everything I needed to make the trailer safe, so with everything I needed was there and the perfect spare tire and mounting bracket. The products are fine... the order processing and shipping were unbelievably fast... The one "downer" was that the lighting kit was put in the box without any additional packing/cushioning... the package split open and the contents of the kit were scattered among the tires... luckily, the lights/parts appear undamaged, as far as I can see... I have yet to install the kit and test it...

Bought these replacement tires for small Coleman pop-up camper. Have them a year, they weathered great through frigid winter even though I left camper on ground instead of lifting on blocks. To be fair I only take it out once a year, so only a few hundred miles on them. - Recommended Tire And Wheel Sizes To Change To For A Camper With 5.70-8 TiresWhen you say blowouts and attribute them to heat buildup, you are correct. The reason you have heat buildup in tires is not just because of the size, it will also be from overloading, damage to the tires and age. So to just change size first might not solve the problem. If the tires hit curbs a lot it would cause damage to the sidewalls and form a weak spot, which would allow the heat to buildup and go to the weakest spot in the tire and fail.
