Absorbs Road Shock and Reduces Chucking

Upgrade your trailer's suspension for a smoother ride with these cushioned Equa-Flex equalizers. These units deliver a ride as smooth as you'd get with torsion axles, but at a fraction of the cost. The rubber cores effectively absorb vibrations and bumps and reduce the back-and-forth movement known as chucking. Unlike standard cast equalizers, the Equa-Flex's rubber cores soak up this energy like a sponge instead of transferring it to your trailer and cargo. The result is a more comfortable ride with less wear and tear on your trailer.

Easy Installation

Illustration of a tandem axle trailer suspension system

It's easy to upgrade your trailer's standard suspension with a set of cushioned Equa-Flex equalizers. You will need 10 standard suspension bolts and 8 shackle straps (each sold separately) to incorporate the equalizers into your trailer's suspension system. Two of the suspension bolts will be used to suspend the equalizers from the center hangers, and the other 8 bolts will be used with the shackle straps to attach the equalizers to the double-eye leaf springs. If you would like to replace the bolts that attach the springs to your front and rear hangers as well, you will need 4 additional suspension bolts (sold separately).

Product is good. When I received the initial order I took my camper plus the package to the service center after they had taken axle's off and then starting putting the equalizers on we discovered that we were missing one grease bolt,4 shackle links and 10 nuts. I tried to get it overnighted but no one had a good answer as to why it couldn't be done. So my camper took up space sitting on blocks an extra 5 days that service center need. I just hope they don't bill anything extra.

by:

I installed them this spring, here are a few pictures. I also installed all new bushings and greasable pins. It was a good thing I replaced these as the center bushing on my old equalizers were broken. The new equilizers are a couple inches taller than the old one, raise my trailer over an inch. This worked well as my new truck is higher than my old one.

by:

I watched the video, compared to other options, and chose this item.
Install was fast once lined up.
Test drive was great- took my 26' travel trailer over a pretty bad road.
Road effect was less, my pickup jumped around less, and my neck is thankful.
This equalizer replaced a Dexter Axle 13-142. Although the measurements are not exact as the original, the fit was fine and gives me approx one extra inch of tire to fender clearance.

I still think it is a good product. We did our five weeks through multiple states, still working good. I wish it had been stock when we got the trailer. Whenever I replace my trailer, Ill add this as one of the first tweaks I do to it.

by:

Had to remove from trailer. Had no appreciable improvement on my trailer.

by:

Worthy upgrade from the stock factory Equalizers, I have a much improved ride it is smother less bounce and jerkiness. Install was straight forward remove the bolts holding the old equalizers on just make sure you have a couple of jacks and jack stands as I needed to tease the springs back into place. Use the jack stands to hold up the trailer and jacks to move the axle and spring into proper alignment with the new equalizers. The fit isn't the same as the old ones I had but more then easy to get the bolt holes to line up. Also don't be surprised the factory bushings are worn out, replaced mine with brass bushings and they can be greased.

by:

Fit finish and performance great.
Took
longer than expected to complete.
Is best done on flat level pad with multiple jacks to get proper alignment.
Made huge difference in ride and vibration transfered to the to tow vehicle.
Really smooths and quiet ride.
Would buy and install again.

by:

Equa-Flex cushioned equalizers are a must have to replace the stock equalizer on your trailer. Parts are well made and it is an easy swap. Just finished the install in less than 2 hrs., can't wait to hook up and hit the road and try them out. Will update after we have pulled the trailer down the road.

2nd time using etrailer, both times have been great. I shop for parts, best quality at the best price, etrailer has competitive prices, parts are quality and parts arrive on time or a day early.

by:

I ordered the Equa-Flex Cushioned Equalizers to replace the stock solid beams that came on my 2017 Jayco Whitehawk. Replacement went flawlessly, Etrailer how to video was extremely helpful and spot-on.

by:

etrailer has delivered again. Great company for your RV parts. Looking forward to next trip to see how Suspension Upgrade works, but took trailer for short 10 mile test pull, & so far I think I'm going to be impressed.

by:

I’m pleased as the Equalizers perform as advertised. Only minor issue is cracks in the yellow coating along the bottom edges of the equalizers that are not effecting performance.

by:

Not too difficult to install, has helped with the ride towing the camper. Very pleased. Mary at eTrailer was exceptionally helpful with this order!

by:

Quality built. Easy install. It did help with "chucking" and made a smoother ride.I also installed the wet bolt kit

by:

Our order was shipped when we were told it would and it was complete. Everything seemed to be on good order and we are anxious to get it installed. etrailer.com was a pleasure to work with.

by:

Night and day difference in towing, smooths out the bumps and makes the ride great. Installation wasn't bad, did it myself with a helper, took 4 hours total along with replacing all the bolts with wet bolts.

Hello, product a little damaged by transport, lack of flaking paint, but for the eeste seems wn good condition. on the other hand for this article I was charged an amount of $xxx.xx including transport tax and exchange rate. Why did you collect an additional amount of $xx.xx from my paypal that I do not have authorities?

Etrailer Expert

Katrina B.

5/4/2022

We have not received this additional amount. I see that you had this order shipped internationally, when it comes to shipping international orders, we include any additional shipping costs in your initial purchase. However, this does not prevent the stateprovinceterritory that you are having the item shipped to from taking any additional charges. All duties, taxes or brokerage fees to a non-US address are your responsibility. I would suggest contacting PayPal to confirm where that additional charge was made from. For the paint chips, we recommend covering any exposed metal with a clear or yellow colored Rust-oleum type of paint.

Etrailer Expert

Katrina B.

I have also received the paint color code for the equalizers. If your product is damaged in transport, we do recommend painting it with a rust-oleum type of paint, RAL color which is code # 1021, in order to prevent rust in the future.

I ordered the parts about 11 am and they were here at my house by 11 am the next day...great product.

Still working good.

by:

As always etrailer the best

by: 03/11/2021

Ride is great, they are holding up nicely. Terrible quality yellow paint, peeling off, but does not affect function of unit.

by:

The ride is noticeably softer especially on the terrible conditions of the highways

by:

These have been a nice upgrade to the factory originals.

by:

Very easy install, about 1/2 hr a side. Made huge difference, would highly recommend!!

by:

I was somewhat surprised that the item already had scratches on it like someone had tried to install them before. Otherwise I’m looking forward to using them on my next trip.

by:

Excellent product, price with fast shipping. Recommended Dealer

by:

We'll see, not installed yet, but in a quick look side to side the two ends and middle do not directly match...maybe the rubber will flex and make them even.

The Equa-Flex Cushioned Equalizers - Double Eye Springs - Tandem Axle - 3K to 6K # LC279687 is the correct equalizer for 33 inch or 35 inch spread. You will need to measure your current equalizer from center of hole to center of hole left to right. This system is 5-1/2 inches on center at rest. I've attached a video showing this equalizer on a 35 inch axle spread. If your system requires a wider equalizer measurement like # K13-142-02, the Equa-Flex Cushioned Equalizers - Double Eye...
