Fit great and working awesome thanks

by:

Very heavy duty spring, would not bolt up to my trailer as is l had to drill 2 holes in each bracket and bolt it on to my existing bracket, this spring is much more thicker and wider in diameter that's why it doesn't bolt up directly but it is a very easy modification.lm a bread man and l have a hallmark edge trailer with and extremely heavy door the spring it comes with works good but they only last about two or so.l don't think l will have to worry about changing the spring for a good long time, based on the size and the way it effortlessly handles the weight of the door.lf you will notice one of these springs way smaller and has a smaller bolt pattern notice on the other photo the ramp door is open anthe spring is barely stressed but the door is very easy to pull down and you can raise it up with one arm.

  • Overhead Door Springs On Enclosed Trailer Frequently Breaking
With your over head garage door springs frequently breaking you may not have the correct capacity springs for your door. We have kits that range from 80LBS # M374FR up to 250LBS # CB250D96SHD. The weight rating is not the door weight but the amount of force required to raise the door at any given point. The easiest way to check this is with a scale while raising the door. If you can tell me the weight you are seeing on a scale I can help find the correct system for your door. The Ramp...

  • How To Measure For Replacement Overhead Springs On A Trailer Door
In order to measure the size of spring # CB250D96SHD your trailer ramp door needs, you'll want to take these measurements: Measure the springing weight, you can do this by taking down the weight of the ramp at the beginning of the spring cycle. This can be done by weighing the trailer door by placing a scale underneath the door with the spring assembly not attached. Next, you'll want to measure the distance from the top of the door to the end of the open door. This is a safety precaution...

  • Bifold To Single Door Charmc Gooseneck Enclosed Trailer Conversion
Depending on your dimensions, the double torsion springs fit 96 inches wide, # CB250D96SHD or the 81 inches wide, # ERS120D81 would be used. Installation requiring winding torsion springs can be very dangerous if you don't have prior experience. A local garage door company can install this system if you're not confident. A retention device for the door when it is up such as # 383200 can also be used horizontally or vertically.

  • Door Weight Capacity of Ramp Spring CB250D96SHD
The spring capacity for the Ramp Spring part # CB250D96SHD is 250 lbs. It won't totally lift the ramp but depending on how you have the ramp wound it can help with weights of up to 250 lbs.

  • How to Determine Right Spring For Ramp
Hi there John; I'd love to tell you exactly what you need but you have to know the weight of the door, there just isn't any way around it. There isn't a product or kit to completely eliminate the spring and cable so to find the right one you need the weight of the door (which the trailer manufacturer should be able to tell you) and the width of the door. For example an 80" to 96" wide trailer door that is up to 250 lbs would use the Conventional Ramp Door Spring for 8' Wide Enclosed Trailer...

The cable part # CAB1-8CB150 is a replacement for springs like # CB250D96SHD which is designed to help make raising and lowering a heavy trailer easier. For securing the door shut you would need to use a latch like the part # 305736.

  • Overhead Ramp Spring for Rear Door of 2005 Featherlite 1648 Snowmobile Trailer
The spring needed will depend on the inside width of the trailer and the weight of the door. I looked online found that the Featherlite 1648 is 8 feet 6 inches wide. I'd recommend the # CB250D96SHD from M-3 Industries. The assembly is 8 foot long, and has a 250 lb capacity, which should work well for your trailer. Unless you have experience installing torsion springs, please leave the installation of this spring to a professional.

  • Could the Ramp Spring Part # CB250D96SHD Replace a Smaller Ramp Spring
The closest ramp spring we have to what you have is the part # CB250D96SHD that you referenced which is slightly larger than your current setup but could still be made to work. It can be cut down to a minimum length of 80 inches. We strongly recommend having a professional overhead door technician install the spring for you. The spring needs to be tensioned, and if it lets loose accidentally it would fling tools at high enough velocity to easily kill someone.

  • Can Mounting Brackets be Moved on Enclosed Trailer Ramp Spring
It is not recommended to adjust any of the parts attached to the main tube of a spring like # CB250D96SHD because of the tension on the springs. Only a certified garage door installer should make adjustments. While it is possible to move the brackets it would be easier to just move the top L-brackets to point out instead of in or just replace them with longer L-brackets to fit the mounts you have.

I spoke with my contact at Redneck about the Enclosed Trailer Ramp Spring, part # CB250D96SHD on your trailer. They told me that the pipe that the springs and cable assemblies are attached to can be cut down to work on your 84 inch door. • Recommended Ramp Spring for Toy Hauler
I'd recommend a heavy duty ramp spring like part # CB250D96SHD. The unit is 96 inches wide, but could be cut down to a minimum of 80 inches if needed. • Does Placement Of Cables Change Weight Capacity Of Enclosed Trailer Ramp Spring
The 250 lb weight capacity of the Enclosed Trailer Ramp Spring, part # CB250D96SHD is for the weight of the ramp and not the tension on the springs. The M-3 Enclosed Trailer Ramp Spring # CB250D96SHD uses cables that will be plenty long for your application on a ramp door that is 90-inches wide x 96-inches tall. That is precisely the type of trailer installation for which this item is intended. It will work for you so long as the ramp does not weigh more than 250-lbs. • Trailer Ramp Door Is Hard to Open and Close, Do the Torsion Springs Need to Be Replaced
It could be that the springs are worn out and need to be replaced with either new springs or a new system such as # CB250D96SHD. Inspecting, working on, and/or installing these systems is not something you would want to do yourself because they can be dangerous (the springs are under a lot of tension). I recommend having a garage door company take a look at it to determine if anything can be done to fix the existing system or if a new system is needed.

I do recommend the 96 inch system # CB250D96SHD. You can trim down the length for a better fit. The 250 pound capacity will be enough for your door as long as your maximum weight is correct. The springs are longer than on the shorter systems, as is the main shaft. The actual product weight is going to be slightly different with this system being around 45 lbs. It is also strongly advised to have this system professionally installed by a garage door company because torsion springs can...
