What is the Purpose of Trailer Ramp Springs

what are the technical functions of the cables? i.e. for stability only, to hold door shut, to help opening door , etc. Thx

The cable part # CAB1-8CB150 is a replacement for springs like # CB250D96SHD which is designed to help make raising and lowering a heavy trailer easier.
For securing the door shut you would need to use a latch like the part # 305736.
