Sonically Sealed, Waterproof Trailer Light

The waterproof construction of this light makes it ideal for use on trailers that may be submerged, like a boat trailer. The housing and lens are sonically sealed together to create a single unit, which means that water will not get into the light and damage the diodes or circuit board.

Nice lights. I have the 36 diode oval LED lights mounted on a flatbed truck as reverse lights and they are not near as bright as these 10 diode lights. I have the 10 diode lights mounted inside a 6ftx20ft stock trailer on a toggle switch. There is one at the front and one at the back. They give off plenty of light to load and unload horses and cattle in the dark. I would buy these again for the next trailer I rebuild. The team at etrailer.com is top notch as well. Your order will ship the same day and arrive in a timely manner. If it does not they will tell you why. Great people to do business with.

Product exactly as needed. Existing lamps last about 8 to 10 weeks as docking lights on my motorhome; there are four - one at each wheel. These lamps fit perfectly and are much brighter. My expectation is that these lamps will last more than a year(?) We'll see.

So far these lights have exceeded my every expectation! Absolutely no problems whatsoever. Thank you for making a quality product that I can depend on

by:

I purchased these Submersible LED bulbs for my boat trailer for two reasons. The first is so road traffic is aware of my intentions of backing up and the second is to make it easier to back my trailer into my driveway at night. The only thing that I find disappointing about this product, is that the wires are not sealed. You have to plug a pigtail in to power the bulb. Although they say it is watertight, I still plan on sealing the plug with some marine grade silicone sealant. Otherwise I am very satisfied with the way these bulbs light up my path of travel.

by:

the light fixture works very good except when used in the bracket, it leaves the back exposed to being hit by road debris. There is no cover on the light fixture. Therefore i went to a local fabricator and he made a fixture out of 2x4 steel tubing. The gasket fit perfectly but when i went to us the 2 wire pigtail, it was at the wrong angle for the light. I purchased another one locally. just wanted you to know that i could only use the light and the gasket.

Thank you for your prompt service.

by:

Great and perfect replacement for the backup lights in my headache rack.

by:

I can't believe the difference in the looks of my Damon Outlaw Toy Hauler after adding the new LED taillights, not to mention how much safer it will be with the added visibility. The rear of the coach looks brand new with the old faded lights removed and replaced with your lights. Everything was just plug and play. Well worth the cost. Thanks, Michael

I get compliments on the way the motorhome looks all the time. The transformation was really worthwhile, and the back of the coach is MUCH MORE visible poor weather than it used to be. I am completely satisfied!

by:

The lights are great, however, you should probably sell as a kit to include the mounting brackets and wiring harness. I had to make a second order to complete the installation on my truck.

by:

Very bright look great direct fit plug n play

by:

Installed as an interior light in my horse trailer. Works great, although it was slightly bigger than the previous light and was a bit difficult to install. High output with very little power draw. Just plug in, no electrical work. Received very quickly.

by:

I ordered LED trailer running lights - were very easy to put in - not quite as bright as I would have liked, but did may a noticeable difference.

by:

Huge difference in brightness from these back up lights compared to those which came on my Ranch Hand Legend rear bumper. Product was as described and arrived sooner then I expected.

by:

Product well made and was as advertised. Led lights will be used in my Ranch Hand bumper.
Easy to install. I already have the mounting base and wiring.

by:

I made this purchase for my son's boat trailer. I ordered on the Monday before Thanksgiving and it arrived the day before. Everything arrived as expected and well packed. He can't wait to get this installed!

by:

These provide a lot more light than the bulb type lights. Connections on the back match what was on the trailer. I replaced the rubber grommets at the same time as they are not very expensive.

by:

Etrailer.com is my "Go To" site for trailer lighting and parts. Always reasonable prices.

by:

No instructions
No instructions available
No
way to mount them to trailer
So far they suck

Thank you for the reply. You are correct the light has a three prong socket on the back but this light only uses one function. You need a ground connection and the reverse signal connection. The 2 prong plug I recommended will actually cover up that third slot so you dont have to worry about it getting dirty or damaged.

by:

Excellent to deal with and fast shipping

by:

Product worked fine. Only took a couple of minutes to replace my old trailer lights. Lights are much brighter than my old bulb type lights.

by:

etrailer.com had everything I needed to complete my trailer build, and at the right prices. The products are quality, with competitive pricing. etrailer.com delivered as promised, it was our local delivery that delayed sending the product out to my home, but one call to Pat, and the issue was immediately resolved, and I had the product that night! Great product, Great customer service!

by:

Was just what I was looking for. They had the red lights at our local store but I couldn't find the back-up lights so I went on line and found e-trailer. Realized I could have gotten everything from them and will keep them on my fav list.

by:

Product looks great, just wish I had known it needs a wire harness instead of just having the wires already installed.

by:

Finding and purchasing products from etrailer.com has always been easy. I have purchased many times from etrailer.com.
Parts arrive on time and never had a problem.
Good job.

What I needed for light replacements

by:

Delivery was quicker than expected. The answer to the review by the staff was extremely helpful in deciding which light would work for my intended use. Have bookmarked etrailer for all future purchasing.

by:

Much better than expected communication and very prompt service. Really pleased with the way they handled the transaction. Very customer focused.

  • How to Provide Power to Trailer Reverse Lights
To connect back up lights you need to have a 7-way trailer connector on both your trailer and tow vehicle. On a 7-way the reverse lights are powered by the center pin. To connect reverse lights to the trailer's 7-way you can use 16 gauge wire # 16-1-1, or 14 gauge # DW07550-1 if you have a longer trailer. Both are sold by the foot. If you need reverse lights a couple of popular options are the Optronics LED Backup Light # BUL10CB for an LED that uses a 2-wire pigtail # A45CB to connect....

  • Recommended Optronics Assembly for Adding Backup Lights to Sprinter
I recommend going with the Optronics LED Backup Light # BUL10CB, as it will provide you with a clear, bright LED and it is DOT approved to be used as a backup lamp. The Optronics Sealed Oval LED Light # BUL78CB that you also mentioned is a nice utility light, but it is not actually DOT approved to be used as a backup lamp on a vehicle. To install the light assemblies, you can use the 2-Wire Pigtail # A45CB. The white wire will be attached to a bare metal surface of the frame for ground,...

  • Why Would LED Trailer Light Stop Working
The lifespan of LEDs are typically much longer than what they would ever be needed for. They don't burn out like traditional bulbs which is one of the many advantages to them. Most likely your issue is ground related. Try improving the ground on the right turn signal and you should get the light to work again.

  • White LED Light Recommendation to fit a 3 inch by 2 inch Area
The best recommendation I could make since we don't have a 3x2 LED light in white would be the part # UCL50CB. This is a 2 inch diameter round white LED that would supply a very bright white illumination. For a pigtail harness to install this light you would want the part # A46PB.

  • Flush Mount, Submersible LED Back Up Light Recommendation for a Trailer
The brightest LED light, flush mount, submersible, that can be used as a back up light, is going to be the round light # BUL23C24B. But this is a 24 volt light and it has 27 diodes. For a 12 volt back up light that is flush mount and submersible would be # BUL10CB or # BUL11CB. For the BUL10CB that you have referenced, you will also need grommet # a70gb, and a wiring harness # A49PB. For the round light # BUL11CB, you would need grommet # A45GB. and harness # A45CB.

  • Can Reverse Light of RV Be Used as Utility Light
Sounds like you want utility lights at the rear of your RV instead of a reverse light since you mentioned you didn't want the lights to come on when in reverse. So what you could do is run the power for the lights from the RV battery and then use a switch like the Derale part # D16740.

If you wanted to mount an oval reverse lamp on the outboard sides of the wooden guide-ons shown in the photo, you could easily do so using the following parts: LED Submersible Back-Up Lamp, part # BUL10CB (DOT certified for Back Up Lamp Function) Mounting bracket, part # BK70BB Grommet, part # A70GB Wire pigtail, part # A49PB If you wanted to mount the lamp on the metal upright, that would be possible as well but you'd need to box off the upright somehow to provide a surface that the...

  • DOT Approved Trailer LED Reverse Light and an LED Interior Trailer Light
Optronics light # BUL78CB is a utility light so it is not DOT approved to be used as anything other than that. For the interior of the trailer it will work fine, it doesn't have to be DOT approved since it isn't a tail, marker, reverse, brake, or turn signal light. It is about as tough as any other trailer light that you would find but I would not expose it to repeated impact from cargo. the lens or flange would eventually crack. • How to Wire LED Reverse Lamps on Enclosed Trailer

  • LED Backup Light Recommendation for a 2015 Ford F-150
Your 2015 Ford F-150 should have a 7-way trailer connector at the rear of it. The wire running to the center pin is the reverse light circuit and would be the wire to use for adding a reverse light. The part # BUL10CB would work as a back up light but it is a recessed mount light that would require cutting a hole in your trailer. The light that you have referenced, # BUL10CB, fits the criteria that you have mentioned. If mounted horizontally, it is only 2-1/4 inches tall and 6-7/16 inches side to side. It is flush mount (use grommet # a70gb). The lights are LED and as such they are brighter than incandescent lights. They are also categorized as submersible. One option for a DOT approved LED reverse light is Sealed, 6" Oval, LED Trailer Utility Light, Adhesive Mount, 10 Super Diode - Clear Item # BUL78C3MB. It is 7-9/16" x 3-5/16" x 3/4". You mentioned there isn't a lot of space available. How much space do you have? There are not a lot of DOT approved reverse lights available so another option is to use light # BUL10CB with grommet # A70GB and bracket # BK70BB and pigtail # A49PB. Then you can mount the light in the bracket off of the frame.

  • Light Output of Optronics LED Utility Light # BUL78CB Versus Standard # 1156 Bulb
The light output delivered by the Optronics # BUL78CB would be considerably greater than that of a single 1156 single filament bulb. A single 1156 would put out about 32 Candela, while the Optronics # BUL78CB puts out 125 Candela. If you were considering using the # BUL78CB as a back-up lamp, keep in mind that it does not meet DOT specifications as a back-up lamp. • Do Trailer Reverse Lights Require Two or Three Wires to be Powered
Reverse lights like the part # STL211RCB only need power and ground to function. You would not need three wires ran to the light assembly. Power would need to come from the reverse light circuit of the tow vehicle but you can ground the lights to the trailer frame or using wire to run back to ground of the trailer wiring. Both the # BUL10CB and the # BUL72CB are 10 diode lamps, and therefore neither lamp would really be brighter than the other. The main difference between the two is how the light is focused. Because the # BUL10CB lamp is DOT compliant as a back-up light, the light would be more diffused over a wider area. By contrast, the # BUL72CB which is NOT certified as a back up light would have the light more focused on a smaller area. Each lamp would output a similar amount of light, but the # BUL72CB...
