Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

  • Availability Of Wheel With a 4 on 5" Bolt Pattern
I am afraid we do not carry any wheels with a 4 bolt pattern of 5 inches. The only 4 lug wheels we offer will be a 4 on 4. We may have tires for you, but unfortunately no wheels. We do offer one hub which uses the 4 on 5 bolt pattern with part # AH15450ECOMP. This bolt pattern is uncommon these days. We really only see this on agricultural equipment. It may be possible to replace your hub with a standard 4 on 4 hub. We would need to know inner and outer bearing sizes of the current hub...

  • How to Pick Out Trailer Hub Replacement for 1986 Shorelandr
Based on the bearings you have currently the only hub we offer that would fit as a replacement is the part # AH15450ECOMP which has a 4 on 5 inch bolt pattern. I attached a help article on determining bolt pattern so that you can verify you have the same.

  • Information on Bearing Number LM11949
This Bearing, part # LM11949, is most commonly used with the Agricultural Hub Assembly, 4 Bolt, 5 inch Circle, part # AH15450ECOMP. If you are attempting to replace existing bearings, you will just need to check your current bearings for the part number LM11949 to ensure you are ordering the correct replacement bearings.

  • Can the Agricultural Style 4 on 5 Inch Hubs Be Replaced with a More Common Bolt Pattern
It is possible to replace just the trailer hub instead of the whole axle but I would need to know what bearings your current hub has in order to see if that is possible. For example, the only trailer hub we offer with a 4 on 5" bolt pattern is the Trailer Hub Assembly part # AH15450ECOMP and this uses an LM67048 inner and LM11949 outer bearing therefore can be replaced with the Trailer Hub Assembly part # DX22XR because this also uses those same bearings. • Trailer Hub That Fits a Spindle With 1-1/4" Inner Bearing and 3/4" Outer Bearing
The only hub that we have that fits an Inner Bearing # LM67048 (1-1/4") and Outer Bearing # LM11949 (3/4") is the Trailer Hub Assembly # AH15450ECOMP. This is only available in a 4 on 5" lug bolt pattern. To get to the 5 on 4-1/2" wheel pattern you will need to source a wheel spacer that adapts from the 4 on 5" bolt pattern.

  • Correct Replacement Trailer Hub with .750 Inch Outer Bearing
I believe we have what you're looking for in the Trailer Hub Assembly part # AH15450ECOMP which uses a LM67048 inner bearing (1.250") and a LM11949 outer bearings (0.750"). This is the only trailer hub assembly we offer which uses the LM11949 bearing. This hub has a 4 on 5" bolt pattern.

  • Solution for Replacement Hub For Spindle With LM67048/LM11949 Bearing Combination
The 09067 bearing has an inner diameter of .75" just like the # LM11949. The only option we have that would fit is the # AH15450ECOMP which is an agricultural hub with a 4 on 5 bolt pattern. This bearing combination is old and very uncommon anymore so regular replacement hubs are no longer manufactured. The best solution is to replace your axle with one that uses standard bearings. This would allow you to add hubs that match your 5 on 4-3/4 bolt pattern like the # AKIHUB-5475-35-K. To...

  • Replacement Trailer Idler Hub With Inner Bearing 1.25" and Outer Bearing 0.75" Inner Diameters
The only hub we carry that will fit your spindle size is the Agricultural Hub # AH15450ECOMP, as most have changed over to the more common BT8 # TRU59FR and BTR # TRU44FR. The agricultural hub is only rated for speeds up to 20mph and uses a 4 on 5" bolt pattern. You can have your spindles replaced to one of the more common sizes but this is best done at a trailer manufacturer so they can true up the ends of the spindle to ensure it is welded on straight. Otherwise if you can give me dimesnions...

  • Agricultural Hub Availability
It sounds like you have an agricultural hub like the part # TRU54FR that has a diameter of .75 where the inner bearing rides. You will need to measure the spindle of your trailer to verify this. Where the outer bearing rides will need to be 1.25 inches, the seal surface diameter 1.50 inches. The only hub we have to fit this hub would be the part # AH15450ECOMP.

  • Determining Capacity of an Old Trailer Axle with No Information on the Axle
The 15123 bearing is still common but I could not find any information on the 09057 bearing. But given that your hubs have the 4 bolt pattern it is likely that the axle is rated under 3,000 pounds. Most likely it is a 2,000 pound axle. Measure the spindle where the 09057 bearing rides using calipers such as # PTW80157 I can see if there is a different bearing with the same inner diameter that is commonly used with 15123 and go from there. Since you still have the trailer frame as well...

  • Replacement Hub for Axle With 09074 Outer Bearing and 15123 Inner Bearing
We do have one possible hub that would fit your spindle but it is an agricultural hub which is designed for low-speed applications. The Trailer Hub Assembly - 3,000 lbs Axles # AH15450ECOMP uses the same size bearings you currently have. I was unable to find the dimensions of that 1138758 seal but the grease seal on this hub has an inner diameter of 1.50". This hub uses a 4 on 5 bolt pattern. If this will not work as a replacement for you, your best option may be to replace the axle on...

  • Recommended Replacements for a Trailer Hub With an LM67048 Inner Bearing and LM11949 Outer Bearing
It sounds like you have an agricultural style hub, like our part # AH15450ECOMP. In reality, replacement items are available for your current setup, but because you mention that this a boat trailer, your best option would really be to switch out to an EZ-Lube assembly. The current agricultural hub might hold up if you are just submerging them once or twice a season, but for repeated use you will really want to switch out the spindle, hub, and wheels. I would recommend going with EZ-Lube...

  • How to Identify Compatible Hubs for Vintage Utility Trailer
Thank you for the photo of your vintage utility trailer's spindle. The simplest and surest way to identify a compatible trailer hub is to identify the inner and outer bearings and the grease seal it uses. Thank you for providing the bearing numbers from your current hubs. This is important for finding suitable replacements, as are the axle weight capacity and wheel bolt pattern. I recommend that you choose a new axle kit with spindles, hubs, bearings, races, etc. For example, we offer complete axle kits from Dexter, such as their # 35545I-EZ-89 which is 89-inches from hub face to hub face, rated at 3500-lbs, includes 5 on 4-1/2 idler hubs, bearings, races, seals, grease caps, wheel studs,...

It sounds like your existing hub uses a LM67048 inner/LM11949 bearing. The only hubs we offer that would be compatible with that bearing set would be an agricultural hub like # AH15450ECOMP which is meant for low-speed use (20 mph or less) on equipment like implement wagons and other agricultural equipment that's not used on public roads. Trailer Hub Assembly - 3,000 lbs Axles - 4 on 5 - Agricultural, part # AH15450ECOMP. The hub assembly we offer with bearing # LM11949 is an agricultural hub, # AH15450ECOMP. This hub is intended for agricultural use, and the outer bearing measurement you mentioned does not match the outer bearing used by this hub and spindle. This axle uses bearings that are nonstandard, so it may be easier for your to swap out the axle for a new one that uses standard bearings. I've added a link to a list of all our available axles to see if we have one that will work for you.
