This is the first time I have purchased a hitch receiver shank or ball mount made of aluminum, I noticed that it is much lighter than my original steal one.
The item was delivered a day earlier of the scheduled date. Thanks for the quick service.

Overall the product looks good, fair pricing, average delivery. I am a little disappointed with how loosely it fits into my receiver. My truck is a brand new 2018 GMC Sierra. You can wiggle the hitch quite a bit, I hope this problem will not be too noisy. It can only get worse with time and wear, especially since it is Aluminum. I saw this complaint on some other reviews. The product needs to be made a little larger. You can always take material off easier than you can add material.

Robert, Thank you for your review. Some of the 2018 GMC Sierra 2500 and 3500s have a factory 2-1/2 inch. This brophy ball mount part # EA40 is designed for a 2 hitch. If you have a 2-1/2 hitch the closest ball mount we have to the rise, and length that is needed is part # 45123. This Reese ball mount has 3-1/2 inch rise, 5 inch and is 16- 1/2 inches long. It is rated at 13,000 lbs. If you are not sure what size factory hitch you have I have attached a link to help you measure. If it turns out you do have a 2 inch hitch, I would recommend an anti-rattle such as part BX88224. The blue ox immobilizer will tighten up the connection between the ball mount and hitch receiver to help quiet the rattle.

Great hitch, light, strong and still looks like new after a years use.

by:

These two items are the best when using them in the Gulf Coast area. Salt water, and the air rust items of this kind very fast. Aluminum and Stainless Steel are a good combo in salty areas.

This is an outstanding hitch mount. I have purchase additional mounts for my other vehicles.

Hitch head and Etrailer service both exceeded my expectations. Product looks great and was delivered ahead of schedule. Nice to deal with a company that understands the importance of customer service.

Still very pleased with this hitch. Some lengths of these heads are hard to find and this was exactly what I needed.

by:

I just received this receiver hitch today & have not used it. I have been using the same typ but in a 1" rise for a year or so & I like it's light weight but I needed a bit more rise. so this 3' rise model should work even better for me.

Great!

by:

I ordered the first time on the website, and after I didn't receive it for some time, I called and was told it is on back order. Had I known that 2 weeks earlier, would have helped. So reordered on the phone, and received it when promised. Unfortunately the shipper packed a steel ball in the same box with an aluminum hitch, and no padding around the ball. The hitch got pretty well beat up.

by:

It does what it is supposed to do, but the fit is sloppy. It has significantly more hitch rattle than other draw bars I own.

by:

Has kept its shine quite well. Recomend for a great looking hitch!

by:

I ordered a Brophy Ball Mount after careful consideration to what I needed. A good description really helped a lot in that process. The ball mount arrived sooner then expected and suits my needs perfectly. The price was good and the service was good. A very good product, good price and good service. I have also bought other products from them and always been happy.

by:

Excellent hitch, I like it because it doesn’t rust, hitch still looks new.

by:

This is a very nicely made product, but when I used it on my factory 2015 Chevrolet Silverado hitch, it rattled and I had to remove it and return.

by:

so far so good. One year later.

by:

Great product - FAST delivery - just what I needed to work in both front and rear hitch

by:

Fit my 2018 Subaru Outback perfectly in either the drop or rise position.
I am impressed on how light weight it is.

by:

Just got it, finely machined. Have not used, boat in shop. Good price, quick delivery and good communication.

This stinger fits perfectly with my boat trailer and pickup. Having a bad back, the reduced weight is very helpful when removing and installing my Rock Tamer mud flaps. Shawnee was a huge help in determining what would work best for my application!!!

  • Recommended 16 Inch Long Ball Mount with 12,000 Lb Weight Capacity
I do have options for you but the longer you extend the connection point from the trailer hitch, the less capacity you will have. That said, they do not offer a ball mount that is 16" long (center of hitch pin hole to center of ball hole) and offers a 12,000 lb weight capacity. I do have an extended shank ball mount that has a 12,000 lb weight capacity, the Draw-Tite Ball Mount part # 4285 but it is only 12" long when measuring from the center of hitch pin hole to center of ball hole. • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 1996 Cadillac Fleetwood Hearse with 38 Inch Frame
While a custom fit hitch for your 1996 Cadillac Fleetwood Hearse is not an option, the Multi-Fit Trailer Hitch # 5350 may work for you. The hitch is adjustable to fit vehicle frames from 24 to 46 inches wide, has a capacity of 5,000 lbs and features the 2 inch receiver you wanted. It requires no welding and all hardware to install it is included. Since your frame is recessed a good 16 inches behind the vehicle's fascia, your best option is to go with an extra long ball mount like # EA40...

  • Can Two Hitch Extenders Be Used to Create More Clearance
While I do have a potential solution for you, I do not recommend adding another extender adapter to your existing Tow Ready Hitch Extender # HE18. This is just going to create way too much instability and it could lead to damage because of the additional leverage it creates, even for short-term applications like what you need it for. While it's still going to create more leverage since it's extending the load out further from the bumper, a better option is to use your current extender...

  • Using a Hitch Extender to Keep Tailpipe Out of the Water when Launching a Boat
If your tow vehicle has a 2-1/2 inch hitch opening then Curt extension # C45048 is a great option to give you more length between the vehicle and trailer so you won't have to dunk your tail pipe in the water. If your vehicle does not have a 2-1/2 inch hitch receiver then this extension will not work. If you have a 2 inch hitch I recommend going with a longer ball mount instead of a hitch extender. On a 1-1/4 or 2 inch hitch a hitch extender will reduce the tongue weight capacity of the...

  • Extending a 2 Inch Trailer Hitch to Clear Camper in Truck Bed
The longest extension available for a 2 inch trailer hitch is 18 inches, like # ST18. But if you also used extra long ball mount # EA40 that would get you to 32-5/8 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole. Please note the use of an extension will reduce the tongue weight capacity of the trailer hitch by one third, other extension reduce by a half..

If your 2017 Toyota 4Runner has a 2 inch receiver opening in the trailer hitch, then you will be able to use the Brophy Ball Mount, # EA40. This ball mount has a 4 inch drop and a 3 inch rise and a gross towing weight rated at 8,000 lbs. You might want to read the attached article on how to choose the correct ball mount. The article will explain how to measure to see if you will need a ball mount with a rise or drop to connect to your trailer.
