How to Gain Clearance Between Tailgate and A-Frame Sidewind Trailer Jack

Question:

I have a tailgate clearance problem with the sidewind A-Frame jack on my trailers tongue. Its only the crank handle on the jack that interferes. I am considering replacing the jack to solve the problem. A topwind jack with a handle that would fold back would likely solve the problem but I would actually prefer the sidewind design. Do any of your sidewind jacks allow the crank to be re-oriented 90 degrees to the side or other orientation instead of being on the front of the jack? Thank you!

An A-frame trailer jack like # TJA-5000S-B can be position in any orientation. So the handle can be installed facing the rear if you'd like.

Another solution that may work for you is a longer ball mount. We have the Brophy # EA40 which is 14-5/8 inches from the hitch pin hole to the ball hole. This will move the entire trailer back from the tailgate.
