Can an Electric A-Frame Trailer Jack be Mounted Sideways for Hatch/Tailgate Clearance

Question:

Can this Jack be Mounted Sideways?, as to not interfere with my hatchback on my Tahoe? My manual crank one cuts it pretty close... Ive seen others like the Husky mounted sideways. Thanks!

A-frame jacks have a specific mounting pattern using 3 bolts in sort of a triangle configuration. But they are not spaced equally apart meaning if you turn a jack 90 degrees the holes would not line up in most cases. If they line up on yours then you can mount the jack that way. Otherwise you will likely have to drill.

There is an easier solution though and that is to use a longer ball mount so that the trailer sits a little further away and eliminates the chance of interference with the rear hatch on your 2007 Chevy Tahoe. For example the longest fixed ball mount we have is # EA40. It measures 14-5/8 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole. Most other ball mounts are around half of that.
