Lock fits over wheel studs to deter theft.This hold down clamp works excellent!! I sprung mine inward slightly to fit my room holes better and cut my bolt ends down for a trim look. I also placed a stainless steel lock washer under each but to prevent the nuts from loosening any due to vibration like I read in one review can happen. I've got nothing sticking up through my lock and will be using a vinyl cap on the locks' keyhole head as well the end of the bolt on the opposite length. Holds very tightly with moderate tightening. DO NOT over torque or you'll be bending your rim and or trailer tongue channel. Love this item for is efficiency, strength, function and look! My trailer channel is 2" wide by 3" tall. Just place your bolt on a diagonal)
The tire mount and lock and several other items that I ordered online were delivered to my house very quickly (two days). The tire mount was easy to install, and it holds the spare securely to the trailer tongue. I installed the tire mount on a CE Smith 48810 trailer ("trailer in a box"). The tire mount will give me a little piece of mind in that I can take a spare tire with me. The lock makes removing the tire and wheel very difficult without the key. Very pleased. Highly recommend. It should last for years. PS -- I wish the u-bolt wasn't so long (too many threads). I may remedy that some time in the future.

Tire and lock set were in the same box without any filling and the lock set got destroyed. Notified etrailer and they sent a new lock set which was very nice of them. A little filler in the box would have prevented their loss. I have bought from them a few times over the years without issues and will continue to buy in the future. Thank you etrailer!

Like always, I am very happy to work with etrailer for my hauling needs. The product is as expect, service was great and quick. I also like the product videos which help a lot to make the products arrive as expected to reduce mail order surprises. The spare tire carrier is as expected and is decent quality. I would have given it a five star, but one of the nuts does not thread well. While time may work it in and it may be good to have some resistance in rotation to prevent loosening, it reduces the rating to four stars.

doesn't fit 5 on 5 rim although you can force it in half way.

For your application 5 on 5 you will need to bend the unit as stated in the product description.
Worked well for my application (spare tire mounted underneath an Opus On-Road camper). I didn't bother using the lock, as it's enough of a pain to install/remove the tire from the location underneath the trailer (not the fault of the product), so if someone really wants the tire that badly they can go for it! And that way, I don't have to worry about not being able to find the key when I really need the spare. Note that you'll likely need a deep socket to install this depending on the thickness of the bar you are connecting to.
Installed this spare tire carrier on my boat trailer hitch with no problems. Product is well made, and attachment rod is long enough to handle large tires and rims. Product can also be used to mount a tire vertically if necessary. Very simple to install lock on one threaded side. Reasonably priced.
The Fulton Economy Spare Tire Carrier W/wheel Nut Lock is a durable, secure and economical way to mount and lock down your trailer spare tire/wheel. Currently using this product to mount and lock down a ST205/75R 15 5 on 5 Tire/wheel. Currently mounted the spare tire/wheel using this product on the front inside of my 8' x 12' flat bed/utility trailer. Plan to eventually mount the tire/wheel (using this product) on the outside of my trailer but given that my trailer does not have a full box rail but a lip rail, I need to modify my trailer a bit so not to damage the tire (note: trailer is the issue not this product). Lastly, this product works great and was easy to install.
I used this product on my TSI trailer for a 2008 Tuscany 24 foot pontoon. The part of the trailer I mounted it was 3 inches wide and 6 inches tall. Laid the spare tire flat and bracket fits like a glove. Don't need to put spare in back seat of my truck anymore. If you don't mind not using the cap for the lock, then you do not need to do anything except install it which takes about 5 minutes. If you want to put the rubber cap on the locking mechanism, just trim it with a dremel tool or hacksaw. Took me 10 minutes to trim. Love the product.
I just finished mounting my tow dolly spare tire using this Fulton bracket. It was exactly what was described and it fit perfectly. In some applications, depending on the tire and wheel size, the bracket may need to be shortened.
I am please with this product and would recommend it.
I've used the Fulton Economy Spare Tire Carrier on my boat trailer for about a year. It works exactly as expected. Ordering online was a cinch, the delivery was prompt and as ordered, and the price was right. This was my second transaction with etrailer and my second excellent experience. What's not to like?
The package was busted open inside the box the key to the lock was missing plus the nuts was missing to there was no sign of damage to the outer side of the box so nothing could have came out it was packed that was with missing parts
Very simple and effective design. I will use this on the folding 4' X 8' utility trailer that recently arrived from an eBay vendor, once I get it put together. The spare wheel mounting bracket and lock will hold the trailer spare on one of the tongue cross members and still allow the tongue to fold properly according to the trailer design.

I ordered two mounted tires and wheels and two Fulton spare tire carriers. The tires were shipped in two different boxes. The spare tire carriers were put one each in the box containing the tire/wheels. When I opened the boxes, both of the spare tire carrier packages had come open in transit and the contents were scattered inside the tire boxes. One was fine and all parts were there and in the second, the keys for the spare tire carrier lock were missing. I called etrailer and told the representative, Ericka, what occurred. They were super helpful, professional and friendly. etrailer is sending me a replacement. Fantastic customer service! I highly recommend this company!
Easy to install. Some reviews I read spoke about the length of the threads which are too long. But what is too long for some tires and trailer configurations may be too short for others. Keep in mind the threads will have to be cut for your particular installation. It is difficult to tighten the lug nut with a 13/16 wrench and using a lug wrench will be easier but the length of the threads requires a little work with a hack saw.
No regrets, I would recommend this to anyone asking.
Really great product. Fits our trailer perfectly and the locking mechanism really is a great idea. Very happy with the low price we found at etrailer as well.

I needed a way to mount my spare tire. Wasn’t sure which one to buy but after looking at all the options out there, I chose this one. It worked great for me. No disappointments.

Was packaged for shipping poorly. Arrived in oversized box with other items including a heavy trailer jack. Nothing inside box to stop items from bouncing into each other. Package for this item was torn open and parts loose in box. No instructions to figure out locking mechanism. Definitely not worth the money.
I was looking for spare tire carrier that could be mounted on the trailer main frame. I also like the wheel nut lock.
