Pivoting Arms with Ratcheting Hooks

Thule T2 Pro XTR ratcheting wheel hooks

The T2 Pro XTR has ratcheting hooks that grab your bikes firmly by the front wheel, so it won't scratch or scuff the paint. To load a bike, simply place your front wheel in the cradle, rotate the arm up and over the wheel, and press down firmly on the ratcheting hook. To unload your bike, press the gray button on the upright arm to release the ratcheting hook, and slide the hook up.

Sliding Rear Wheel Cradles

Thule T2 Pro XTR sliding wheel trays

The wheel trays have cradles with ratcheting straps to secure your rear wheel to the rack. The cradles slide along the tray to accommodate bikes with a variety of wheelbases. To secure your wheel, run the strap over the rim and back down through the strap buckle and pull tight. To remove your bike, press the quick-release button on the buckle and undo the strap.

Front-Mounted Handle for Easy Tilting and Folding

Thule T2 Pro XTR folding and tiliting designThule T2 Pro XTR cable locks

The rack tilts down with your bikes loaded. So, whether you're at the trail or the grocery store, you don't have to remove your bikes to access your cargo area. It also folds up when not in use. This leaves a smaller footprint, so you can keep the rack on your vehicle to park in your garage. And if you want to remove it, it doesn't take up as much space to store it.

Thule T2 Pro XTR folding and tiliting design

To make tilting and folding easier, the T2 Pro XTR's release lever is mounted on the front of the rack. This means you won't have to reach through or around your bikes with one hand to reach the lever, while supporting the rack's weight with the other, when lowering the rack. Instead, you'll be able to hold the rack with both hands the entire time.

Tool-Free Installation with Anti-Rattle Device

Thule T2 Pro XTR cable locksThule T2 Pro XTR cable locks

The rack quickly installs in your hitch receiver, without the need for tools. Just slide the shank into your hitch and turn the knob until snug. Turning the knob deploys an anti-rattle wedge in the shank to help take play out of the hitch connection. It also sets the integrated SnugTite hitch pin into place, securing the rack to your receiver.

Thule T2 Pro XTR ratcheting wheel hooks

The T2 Pro XTR has built-in wheels that let you easily roll the rack so you don't have to lift it and carry it to your vehicle.

Complete Security

Thule Pro XTR loaded on vehicle

The Pro T2 Pro XTR includes One-Key System locks to secure your bikes to the rack and the rack to your vehicle. Integrated cable locks thread around your bikes' frames and insert into the lock that slides along the cable. The cables store inside the arms when not in use.

Thule T2 Pro XTR loaded on vehicle

The lock on the hand knob secures the rack to your vehicle. Once locked, the hand knob will spin freely so a would-be thief can't operate it. The locks are keyed alike, so you only need to use 1 key. Additional One-Key System locks (sold separately) let you make all your Thule products keyed alike.

Had this for a year now and it is the best rack I've ever owned! Love the tool-free ability to install it on the truck without needing wrenches. Tool-free and anti-rattle, love it!

by:

My one stop shop for everything relating to receivers, hitches, and racks! Great prices + amazing employees = extremely satisfied customers.

by:

Good hitch...no issues after year of use on a 2015 Honda Accord sport. The hitch bottom outs a lot due to the low clearance but this isn't a fault of the hitch. The Honda Accord does not have a lot of ground clearance.

by:

Packaged well,went together well,bikes rode well,very pleased so far,AOK

T2 Pro bike rack was delivered in a very timely manner. The rack was as described, extremely easy to assemble and is super user friendly! Exactly what I was looking for so my wife can use it by herself.

Thanks

by:

Great product, great company to do business with. etrailer is the best. Friendly, helpful and they made sure the bike rack was shipped immediately and it was delivered on time.

by:

The quality of the rack is very sturdy and well built. I needed a rack that has a 12” spacing between wheels do to the baskets on each bike, and this rack delivered that. The issues I have with this rack are: I have a GMC Yukon suv and with the rack mounted I have to lift my two Lecritc 2.0 e-bikes, at 60 pounds each up over 24” to get it mounted. It sure could use ramps, which I know it did not come with. The clamp hold down does not work with fenders on a bike. It does not clamp very well on the cross bar (male and female) type do to the width and the angle of the cross bars. When clamping in front of the front fender makes the bike very unstable, and will require additional strapping and tie downs to secure the bikes. It claims it is for e-bikes, but only if it has no fenders. Nice rack, just not for me.

by:

I had a great trunk rack. However, it would not hold an E bike due to the weight. This rack does a great job of holding my E bike. The rack also allows for me to get into my hatch where a trunk rack would not.

by:

Great product, well built. This is my third Thule bike carrier. Very straight forward directions and easy to assemble.

by:

Service was ok. Regular website, email, tracking. But what I received was a disgrace. I thought I took advantage of a holiday sale, and what they sent me was what looks refurbished.

by:

I previously owned the Thule T2 classic hitch that was damaged in an accident. After researching a replacement, I found the reliability of Thule and significant advantage of being able to easily roll the XTR into the hitch with very little lifting effort. This is a major improvement considering the weight and unwieldy nature of the Classic version. The only negative as compared to the Classic version, is loss of the lockable wheel bars and the awkward short lockable cables on the XTR.
This is more than offset by the ease of mobilty and use of the XTR model.

by:

I love this bike rack, was told it was extremely hard to get last summer with supply chain but etrailer had one and it got to us quickly. We have 2 pedal-assist e-bikes, one is quite heavy; no issues whatsoever with this rack, it is excellent. Highly recommend both the rack and etrailer.com

by:

This bike rack is amazing! Only negative is that the included instructions for assembly are not great, but videos I found online helped with that. I can install this rack on my hitch and have bikes loaded up in just a few minutes, and it makes traveling with our bikes easy since we can still tilt it down to access the back hatch even with bikes attached. Best of all, this rack is INCREDIBLY sturdy. On vacation with two bikes in tow, I got a flat tire on my car and had my car towed to a dealership to get new tires. I had to have it towed on a flatbed because it was the only way to transport the bikes as the back of the car was full of luggage. When the tow truck started to pull my Highlander onto the bed, the angle of the car/flatbed was steep enough that the bottom of the bike rack (an angled piece of metal that hangs down where right where the rack attaches to the hitch) began scraping the ground. I was worried that the bike rack had been damaged, but it didn't even get scratched even though the metal of the rack scraped about a half inch off the surface of the asphalt!

by:

Obviously great quality! Not hard to install; however, I suggest watching [online] video prior to installation. Manual with pictures wasn’t very helpful.

by:

Very nice bike rack. Instruction manual nearly incomprehensible but there are plenty of good videos on line to help with assembly. I assembled myself; probably easier as a two person job

by:

The Thule T2 Pro XTR rack is outstanding. It is sturdy and built to last, and the wheels make it easy to slide up to the trailer hitch and engage it easily. The tilt feature leaves adequate access to the back of my Subaru Forester. The bikes ride in complete security. My one quibble is that the locking cables are far too short to be useful on our bikes.

by:

Fast delivery and great product! I would recommend that you look up videos on how to assemble. The instructions that come with it are basically useless. With the help of a friend assembly was easy. So far the rack has worked perfectly. It is large and heavy so it could require two people to put in on and take it off of the tow hitch. All in all I am very satisfied!

by:

Was delivered quickly. This isn't the first item that I've purchased from eTrailer and have always had a great experience. It was easy to assemble if one places it in the hitch to do so. The instructions are a little difficult to follow as they could use some verbiage to guide one along. Other than that it was easy to assemble. The rack is heavy and it is nice that it has wheels to help move it around.

by:

Sturdy, handles and installs easily.

by:

Sturdy. Easy to put together. Second Thule rack and I trust it will secure my bikes.

by:

Great customer service and fast deliver y!

by:

Works great with larger than average wheelbase bikes (new Stumpjumper). Easy to use, the instruction manual sucks, watch some YouTube videos to put it together. I like that it tilts down for hatchbacks. This is pretty much the best on the market. It's expensive but you'll never wish you'd got something else.

by:

Super service as usual my highest level of praise to your company

by:

Great product. The instructions are picture only. I had to visit the University of YouTube to understand how to use the hitch lock. If the instructions had been written this would be five stars.

  • Wider Cradle for Thule Bike Rack
I just spoke with my rep at Thule. Your Thule 912XT bike rack has a 35 lbs capacity per bike limit. The Cradle for Roadway Bike Carriers item # 853-7887 is less than 2" wide because it is only meant to support lighter weight bikes. They do not make wider cradles for this purpose. These bike racks are also not meant to be used with carbon fiber bike racks to prevent frame damage. I recommend upgrading your current bike rack to the Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack for 2 Bikes Wheel Mount item...

It's not an ideal solution but you can use a 1-1/4 inch to 2 inch hitch adapter with the Thule T2 Pro XT part # TH83JV and it will fit a 1-1/4 inch hitch the # C11681 that fits your 2014 Honda Accord. For a compatible adapter you'd want the part # HTAD. Your best solution would be the T2 that fits the 1-1/4 inch hitch part # TH23JV.

The Thule T2 Pro XTR 2-Bike Rack # TH23JV will absolutely be secure in your vehicle's 1-1/4 inch trailer hitch receiver. The Auto Pin will automatically latch on when you put the rack on, and like you mentioned, all you have to do is twist the knob, which is going to ensure the shank remains tight inside the receiver. This system, called an Auto Attach system, replaces a traditional anti-rattle hitch pin, and the fact it is both easier to use, and just as steady as a rack with one of those...

Instead, you can use the Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" Hitches - Wheel Mount # TH23JV, which is designed to fit on a 1-1/4" receiver. Since there are no 2" trailer hitch receivers for your BMW 328Xi (whether you have the 2008 or 2013 that was in the fitguide search) your best option is to go with the Thule T2 Pro XTR 2 Bike Platform Rack # TH23JV which has the 1-1/4" shank and then use the Hitch Reducer # HT02 for when you plan on using the bike rack for your Ford F-150.
