Most reciever arms don't have enough options. Either to much lift or to much drop. CURT products are moderate and are a great value.

by:

Looks to be very sturdy and perfect fit for my setup

by:

This fits my receiver perfectly and now my trailer is at the right height. I would recommend this product.

by:

Quick shipping on an item that was exactly as described.

This product has worked well for us and has been a great purchase. It was a great value and worked well with my Ford Ranger.

by:

This solved my problem. The Reese hitch bar that came with my load distribution hitch did not have the holes I needed to have my travel trailer line up with my ball mount. I used C17100 in the up position and I needed the holes near the bend to have my truck ball one inch higher than my trailer coupler. With the hitch bar that came with the 6000 lb Reese , in the up position and the lowest setting my ball was 4 inches higher than coupler. In the down position my ball was lower than my coupler.

by:

I have the Pro Series Weight Distribution System w Friction Sway Control - Round - 10,000 lbs GTW, 1,000 lbs TW product PS49903. I pull a 5000# haulmark race trailer 24' with my 2012 ram 1500. I got the weight distribution system and it was great, but according to the instructions, I could not get my hitch ball to 21" at the lowest. So the ride has been ok but I id prefer the ball to be at 21", currently at 22" so I ordered this shank. It has the lowest holes that I could find, however only appears to drop the ball about 1/2". Probably not worth it for 1/2", but I care a lot about my cargo so I thought I would give it a shot. Mind you I have not installed it yet, just put it up next to my current shank and it looks like it would drop the ball1/2"

by:

The product appears to be exactly what I needed. It arrived yesterday and I will switch out from my old hitch shank tomorrow. My old part was used on a taller truck that I traded off and just made the hitch ball too low. This product is definitely heavy duty. Thank you etrailer.com.

by:

I needed a different rise Shank for my new RV than the one I had and the Curt 8" fell perfectly into the range I needed.

The shank is solid steel and heavy and the holes look to be precision machined. Welds look hand done as there is a little sloppiness with some of them but nothing structurally detracting.

You can use this shank in the up or down position so the description that only gives a small amount of drop or rise is a bit misleading. Just know that the max dimension will work for the up or down position.

Powder coating looks good but I do't expect it to last as most of the paint on these things get scratched up in use.

by:

shank was exactly as describe, ordering was easy and arrived quickly.

by:

It’s exactly what I wanted and it came a day earlier great job

by:

I have not received the shank yet, it is at the border. When I pick up my shank and equalizer hitch and have it set up I will gladly review both products.

by:

Perfect height adjustability for my stock, not lifted 2017 Tundra.
And if I do a conservative 4" lift on 33" tires...The hitch Will still work

by:

Got exactly what I ordered! Fast shipping and the website is easy to navigate. With my new truck the old shank even with a shim was sloppy fitting. This one is made for my 2019 and sits nice.

by:

Very happy with all products purchased for this set up. Dealt with Crystal ( aka CK!). She was extremely knowledgeable on all our product needs. She kept me as a customer and resolved some issues I was having with a prior purpose. Great product and great job to Crystal.

Thank you

by:

Product was exactly as advertised and delivered very quickly. I needed something that would allow adjustments on my hitch and this fits perfectly.

by:

Just what the 'doctor' ordered ... Fits well, gives me the adjust-ability to allow use on several different vehicles ... Good quality materials ...

by:

Been working great as it should! Good adjustability. Thanks!

by:

I was very pleased with the ordering process; I was notified when the order was received and when the product was shipped. The product was received in great condition and was exactly what I ordered.

by:

Adam E was very helpful. He had information that help confirm the correct part numbers. His response with processing the purchase was quick. Will order again soon.

by:

Good product, worked as intended. Would purchase again without question

by:

Product works well.... well built

by:

I am very very pleased with it I like the way the quality is on it it looks very heavy duty to pair to my old one

by:

It fit perfect No complaints

by:

Exactly what I needed.

by:

Well put together. Heavy duty product d elivers.

  • Weight Distribution Shank for Curt System and 2-1/2" Receiver on a 2018 Ford F-250
We actually do have a variety of WD shanks that will work with your Curt WD system and the 2-1/2" receiver on your 2018 Ford F-250. I recommend the Curt # C17131 because of how close it is to the size of the Curt # C17100 that you referenced. I have attached a link to our selection of WD shanks that are compatible with 2-1/2" receivers for you to check out as well. These actually all have the same dimensions and hole sizes for the adjustable bolt holes so most shanks are interchangeable...

  • Why is the Maximum Drop on the Curt Adjustable Weight Distribution Shank # C17100 2-1/2 Inches?
The reason why the Curt Adjustable Weight Distribution Shank # C17100 lists the maximum drop at 3 inches is because the maximum measurement in the drop position from the inside top edge of the receiver tip of your hitch to the top of the ball of a compatible Curt round bar systems like the Curt MV Weight Distribution System w/ Friction Sway Control # C17063 is 3 inches. I went ahead and linked a video from the Curt # C17063 that talks about this maximum drop measurement in addition to the...

  • Recommendation for Adding 2nd Friction Sway Control Bar to Trailer
To add a second friction sway control, you will need the second Reese Friction Sway Control Kit # 83660 and you'll need to weld a tab onto your trailer hitch ball platform like # C45822. The friction bar will simply be inverted on the left side, but that will not impact the function and is designed for use on either side. I've attached an article to assist and 2 bars are recommended on trailers over 26 feet long or if you simply want more sway control. The other option is to use a weight...

First you need to know that the use of an adapter to extend, reduce, raise, or lower the receiver will reduce the tongue weight capacity by 50 percent. So if the motorcycle rack you have is completely supported by the trailer hitch then the combined weight of it and the bike cannot exceed the reduced tongue weight capacity. So for example if the combined weight of the carrier and bike is 350 pounds then the hitch would have to have a tongue weight capacity of at least 700 pounds. In this...

Ideally, you'll want your weight distribution head to sit about 3/4 to 1-1/2 inches higher than the level coupler height of the trailer to compensate for trailer squat. Since the difference in your coupler and receiver height is 7 inches, I'd recommend you go with a shank that offers at least a 6 inch drop, like the Curt # C17121. This would put your trailer ball about 1 inch above level, which would be absolutely perfect.
