And that's one of my favorite things about the hitch is when we're not using it, it's not going to change any outward appearance of our Subaru. But when we do want to use it, we're going to remove the two push pins at the bottom of this panel. And this panel is actually removable, so we can get access to our hitch. more

Shane: Hey everyone, Shane here with etrailer.com. Today I have a 2020 Subaru Outback wagon, and I want to walk you through how to install the Draw-Tite Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver. When thinking about putting a hitch on our vehicle, we need to think about what we're going to be using the hitch for. And Class III hitches is going to allow you a lot of different opportunities for either pulling a trailer, cargo carrier, bike rack, putting different ball mounts on, put a cargo carrier on there. We can get stuff out of the vehicle, put it on the cargo carrier, to make more room for our passengers. Bike rack, we're not going to try to load the bikes inside the car or on top of the roof, we'll be able to put them on the bike rack and make it a lot more easier, accessible for you to get your bikes off. This is what our hitch is going to look like once it's installed, you can see the receiver tube is nice and tucked up pretty far up behind the fascia. more

Ryan: Hey, everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today, on our 2020 Subaru Ascent, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the EcoHitch class three trailer hitch receiver. So, the best part about this hitch is that it's going to sit behind our bumper. That way, whenever you're not using it, it can remain completely hidden, and that's because we're going to have an access panel that you can simply just put back in place and maintain that factory look. Most of our Ascent customers use our Subarus to do a little bit of everything, which not only includes towing, but also carrying hitch-mounted accessories. Well, this is going to be a good all around hitch for that, and that's for a couple of different reasons. Since it does sit behind our bumper, that's going to bring it up off the ground more, so it's going to give us a really good ground clearance, and it's going to give us good bumper clearance. So, what I mean by that is, the end of the receiver tube, even though it is hidden, it's going to be pretty much flush here with the edge of our bumper, so that's going to give us more than enough space to use any folding accessories that we might have without having to worry about them contacting the back of our car.And for those of you that do plan on doing quite a bit of towing, this hitch is going to be set up really good for that. more

Ryan: Hey everybody. Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2017 Subaru Outback Wagon, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the etrailer.com Class Three, two inch Trailer Hitch Receiver. Many of our Subaru customers use their Outbacks to do a little bit of everything, whether it be pulling a trailer, using an accessory like a bike rack or cargo carrier. This is going to give us a connection point to be able to get the job done and not to mention, since we'll have an opportunity to carry our accessory back here, we're going to have space up top freed up that way we're still able to use any rooftop accessories. One of the things I like about this hitch is that it's going to sit back a little bit behind our bumper and it's going to have a carbide matte black finish, so it's really going to blend in nicely on the back of our Subaru. It's also going to give us some really good clearance and so, what I mean by that is the end of the receiver tube is going to be just about even with our back bumper, so this should work out really well for any folding accessories like a bike rack or a cargo carrier for example. more

Curt Trailer Hitch Installation - 2020 Subaru Forester

Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer today on our 2020 Subaru Forester, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt class three, two inch trailer hitch receiver. In my opinion, this is going to be a great all around hitch. Not only is it going to look pretty good, but it's also going to be really easy to use. The end of the receiver tube is going to sit just behind our bumper and give us plenty of clearance for many different types of accessories. And since there's nothing really here, interfering with the hitch, it's going to be really easy to get your pin and clip in as well as hook on your safety chains. Now, as far as looks go compared to some of the other hitches, this one is going to be a little bit more visible, but since the cross tube does sit pretty far back and it is going to blend in really nice. You're really not going to notice it, especially when the car is sitting on the ground. more

Ryan: Hey, everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. today on our 2020 Subaru Forester, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the CURT class two trailer hitch receiver. In my opinion, this hitch is going to be a great choice for you if you plan on only using inch and a quarter accessories, or especially if you already have them. And since it is more of a low profile design, it is going to be less visible and in my opinion look pretty good on the back of the Subaru. So this is going to be a class two hitch so it's going to have that inch and a quarter by inch and a quarter receiver tube opening, and a reinforced collar for some extra strength. So the whole process is going to be greener than any of the other hitch manufacturers out there. Beyond it's eco friendly design, it's also going to be great for hauling bikes. A bike rack could easily fit in here with a 350 pound tongue weight on our hitch. You could easily load up four bikes on it. more

Curt Trailer Hitch Installation - 2016 Subaru Outback Wagon

Hi there, Outback owners. Today on your 2016 Subaru Outback Wagon, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Curt's Class 3 Two Inch Trailer Hitch Receiver. This is what our hitch is going to look like when it's installed. Our cross tube is going to be hidden completely behind the bumper, so you're only going to see the receiver here at the back. It's a class 3 two inch by two inch receiver, so it's going to be great for all of your towing needs. Whether you're going to be throwing a cargo carrier on the back to help free up some space inside the vehicle for more passengers or cargo, or if you want to throw a bike rack on the back instead of getting a roof rack mounted version, which can be a little more cumbersome and difficult to get your bikes up on the roof, versus a much lower and easier to access hitch mounted bike rack. Could also throw a draw bar in there and do some light towing with it as well.It uses a 5/8 inch hitch pin and clip. more

Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Installation - 2019 Subaru Crosstrek

Rob: Rob here at etrailer.com, and today you're going to be taking a look at the Draw Tite Class II custom fit trailer hitch receiver on our 2019 Subaru Crosstrek. So here's what our hitch is going to look like once we have it installed. The crosstube is going to be visible, it's going to sit right down below the bumper, but it's still going to have that really clean appearance to it because it is going to be tucked back a little bit and the main thing we see is just that receiver tube sticking out.Now our hitch is going to allow us to do a lot of different things. If you want to tow a trailer, we can do that. We can make some room on the inside of our car for more passengers or pets, we can use a cargo carrier to put that gear on the outside, or if we want to take a bike ride, hit the trails, we can put a bike rack in here and we can be on the way.But regardless of what we're going to be using it for, all of our accessories are going to mount to the hitch pin hole here on the side. Our hitch is going to accept a standard half inch pin and clip. more

Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Installation - 2018 Subaru Forester

Jake: Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at and I'm going to show you how to install this Draw-Tite hitch on our 2018 Subaru Forester. This is going to be a two-inch by two-inch hitch receiver, so it's going to be great for any small trailers, bike racks, cargo carriers, et cetera. It's going to have your standard five-eighths-inch pin hole to be able to fit those pins through to be able to lock in your accessories. It's also going to have a loop to be able to hook your safety chains on and a J-pin hole to be able to insert your J-pin if this is the style pin you like using. With this hitch, you are going to have a 525-pound tongue weight rating and a trailer weight rating of 3,500 pounds. But you are going to want to check with your Forrester's owner's manual to be able to see if your car can handle that weight. more

Ryan: Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer.com. Today on our 2015 Subaru Crosstrek XV, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Draw-Tite, class one, trailer hitch receiver. Now although our hitch is mostly visible, I do like how it contours to the lines to the back of our Subaru and blends in pretty well. And there's also a benefit to being exposed like this. It's going to be a lot easier to use and it's going to be easier to get our accessories on and off.The end of our receiver tube, is going to sit pretty much flush with the edge of our bumper. And that's a good thing because we'll get plenty of clearance and that'll work well with any folding accessories. more

Ryan: Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer.com. Today on our 2018 Subaru Outback wagon, we're going to be taking a look at, and showing you how to install the Curt Class III 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver. Now, one of my favorite things about this hitch is that it's going to be completely hidden, which will maintain that factory look. The only thing you're going to see is the receiver tube opening, and it's still going to be really easy to use, getting our accessories on and off, because how open it is.Now our hitch is going to give us plenty of clearance. The end of our receiver tube is going to be just about flush with our back bumper, and that's going to work really well with those folding accessories. Now with our hitch being a Class III and having that 2" by 2" receiver tube opening, the options for hitch-mounted accessories are more or less endless. So whether it be a ball mount, or a bike rack, you're going to be able to find pretty much any accessory that you need. Now the hitch's pinhole is going to be the standard 5/8 size. more

Today on our 2015 Subaru Crosstrek XV, we're gonna be taking a look at, and showing you how to install, the etrailer.com Class III two inch trailer hitch receiver. Now compared to some of the other hitches available, this one is going to be a little bit more visible, but in my opinion I think it looks pretty good on the back of our Subaru. It contours nicely to the back, and the flat black carbide finish blends in. And there's an upside to being visible, as well, and that's going to be how easy it is to use. Everything's going to be in the open, making connecting or disconnecting any accessories very easy. more

Now, one of my favorite things about this hitch, although it is mostly visible, it does blend in nicely with the back of our Subaru. And many of our customers don't mind the look of it. This is going to be a great hitch, especially if you already have those inch and-a-quarter accessories. It's also going to give us plenty of clearance, and that's going to work perfect with those folding bike racks. This is a Class 1 hitch, so it's going to have that 1-1/4" X 1-1/4" receiver tube opening. more

Ryan: Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer.com. Today on our 2016 Subaru Legacy we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt Class 2 Inch and a Quarter Trailer Hitch Receiver. This is going to be a good all around hitch whether you plan on using it for accessories like bike racks or cargo carriers, or even doing some light duty towing, which many of our customers actually wrote in and said they we're surprised on how well it worked with that light duty towing. Now one of the things that kind of separates this one from some of the others is that it's going to be a little more visible. Now there is an advantage to that, and that is since everything's going to be more open it's going to be easier to use and mount and unmount those accessories.Another thing I noticed is that this hitch is going to give us really good clearance. The end of it is going to sit pretty much flush with the edge of our bumper and that's going to work really good for those folding accessories. Now this is a class 2 hitch and it's going to have that inch and a quarter by inch and a quarter receiver tube opening. more

Now, one of the main differences between this hitch compared to some of the others, is that for the most part, it's going to be completely visible, but that does have an upside. It's going to be really easy to use because everything's going to be in the open. Now, the hitches that are less visible are going to be a little more tough to work with.
