Location of Electric Trailer Brake Controller Wire Bundle on a 2009 Chevrolet Avalanche
Question:
I was looking under the dash for the wires like on the 2009 Silverado and there does not appear to be a bundle. Is the Avalanche different?

The wire bundle should be there, even on a 2009 Chevy Avalanche. There is a connector block to the left of the brake pedal against the fire wall. Directly above this block is where you will find the wires tucked out of the way. There should be five wires in the bundle: red, light blue, black, dark blue, and brown. Please note, the brown will not be used for almost all brake controllers.
I have added a link to a 2007+ GM Truck Brake Controller Help page that has a picture of exactly where to look for the wire bundle. I have also added a link to a video showing a brake controller in an install on a 2008 GMC Sierra. Start at the 1:15 mark on the video.
