If your 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee has a factory installed 7-way trailer socket at the back bumper then you will want to order the Hopkins Agility Trailer Brake Controller along with its matching quick-connect adapter. The part number for the controller itself is # HM47294; the adapter is # HM53035.
If your Grand Cherokee does NOT have a factory 7-way then instead of the adapter you'll need to order the controller unit # HM47297 and a brake controller install kit, part # ETBC7, which inckudes all parts needed for a hard-wired installation, including the connection to the cold side of the brake light switch.
If your truck does not have a 4-pole wiring harness you will need one of those too, part # 118425.
At right I have linked a video and article concerning the installation of the ETBC7 kit.
