For your 2014 Dodge Ram 2500 with a 6 ft bed, we offer several sliding hitches that will work well for you. These hitches range in price due to the features they have. You said you have the factory prep package. Since prep packages vary for different manufacturers, there are a couple of ways we can address this. First, I will give you options for a system with the in-bed puck system.
If your Ram has the factory puck system installed, you have a couple of options. You can install a stationary fifth wheel hitch and replace the pin box on your trailer with a Sidewinder that will give you the distance you need for your trailer from your cab. If this is the option you want to take, you can find the Sidewinder that will work for you in the attached helpful article that has a chart with fifth wheel trailer pin boxes listed.
The other option would be to install the Reese Fifth Wheel Installation Kit, part # RP30154 along with a sliding hitch.
If using the # RP30154 adapter, the hitch I recommend is the Reese Fifth Wheel, part # RP30051. this hitch has a gross towing weight capacity of 16,000 lbs and features 10 inches of travel front to back.
If you do not have the in-bed puck system one of our most economical 16,000 lb sliding hitches we offer is the Curt Fifth Wheel, part # 16516. This hitch has a 4-way pivoting head and a 3-position height adjustment. The slider allows the hitch head to move 12 inches.
Another hitch I recommend is the Curt A16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch, part # C16521. This hitch features a 2-jaw locking system which provides a 360 degree jaw to king pin contact, which means less rattle.
The installation kit I recommend is the Curt Fifth Wheel Installation Kit, part # C16427-204. These custom brackets mount to the existing holes in your Ram frame and cuts installation time in half when compared to a universal bracket system.
To add wiring to the bed of your truck for your trailer I recommend the Bargman Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring for the Dodge Ram Pickup, part # 50-97-410. This will retain the 7-way at the rear of the truck plus give you an additional 7-way connector in the bed for your fifth wheel trailer.
I have attached links to installation videos and some help articles you can check out.
