Difference Between the Bulldog Wedge and the Collar Lock Couplers
Question:
What is the difference between the Bulldog wedge style cast coupler and the collar lock? What is the distance between the center of the ball in the coupler and the center of the jack mounting hole in the wedge style cast coupler? Thanks

The distance between the center of the ball hole to the center of the circle used for A-frame jacks on the part # BD44125W0317 that you referenced is 12-1/2 inches. I confirmed this with my contact at Bulldog.
The advantages between the latching styles of the wedge latch in the # BD44125W0317 and the collar lock like in part # BD028499 is largely personal preference. But the wedge is easier to lock with an anti-theft device. The collar lock style is more rugged and crude design with larger moving parts that make it less likely to freeze up.
I personally like the collar lock setups better. They tend to be easier operate and are less likely to have latching difficulties.
