How to Lock Bikes Loaded on the Swagman XTC-2 2-Bike Platform Rack # S64670
Question:
I had recently purchased the Swagman XTC2 platform bike rack. Im having a terrible time finding a padlock that will easily fit the bike hooks on the main post. They can clear the latch, but they are usually not deep enough to secure properly. Any insight?

The small hole in the ratcheting bike hook mechanism on the Swagman XTC-2 2-Bike Platform Rack # S64670 is not intended for a padlock according to my contact at Swagman. Swagman's recommendation for securing the bikes loaded on this Class I carrier is to use their Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock and Cable # S64031. This lock serves two purposes: it locks the rack to your Class I hitch and it also serves as a locking point for the included cable, which can be wrapped around and through the bikes' frames and wheels. The vinyl-coated steel cable will protect your bikes' finish from scratches.
