Because a trailer doesn't propel itself or have a steering axle, having the wheels perfectly balanced isn't as crucial as it would be on a passenger vehicle. However, if you are purchasing the tires only and are having them mounted to wheels you already have, having the tire shop balance them wouldn't cost too much and certainly couldn't hurt.
