Trailer Wheel Torque Spec Chart

Question:

Yes i just saw an expert Michael H. On here telling someone no matter if it is a single or dual wheel trailer torq specs are 75-85 ft lbs. i dont know how this guy is considered an expert. Sounds like an expert idiot to me. Most of the torq specs on 1/2 lug bolt depends on tire size. Most of the ones i do are a 16inch rim and are torqd to 120 ft lbs

I apologize for any confusion on what the proper torque specs are for 1/2 inch lug nuts on trailer wheels. I attached a picture of a chart to the right that details what the proper torque specs are for a trailer wheels lugs based on lug size, wheel size, and wheel material.

Unfortunately I can't track down the lug size on your Dutchmen Kodiak as that's not something that trailer manufacturers list. Best bet will be to either measure the lug or simply remove one and take it up to a local hardware store. Once you verify the size you can use the chart shown on the answer page I linked below to find the right torque specs.

@ChrisR Your Trailer Wheel Torque Spec Chart only goes down to 15 inch, Wouldn't a 14" wheel be 1/2" stud? I have a 2016 Dutchmen Ultra Lite 22 ft with 14" wheels, looking for stud size so I can torque the nuts, I guess The size would not be smaller than the 1/2" with 120 ftlbs that is on your Trailer Wheel Torque Spec Chart for 15" wheels, What say you? Thank you,

@Paul It looks like Jameson cut the full chart off a little. Here is one of my answer pages that has the full chart.
