I'd recommend the Curt Class III receiver, part # 13323. The hitch offers a good balance of performance for the cost, when compared to the other hitches available for your Tacoma. The Curt model is just as strong as the Hidden Hitch and the Draw-Tite models, so you'll not sacrifice anything by going with the least expensive option. As far as a recommended installer, if you could reply with your City and Zip Code, I'll check with Curt and see who they recommend in your area.

I've linked you to some installation videos for the hitch and the wiring. Go ahead and check them out...you might find that the installation is simple enough that you'd feel comfortable completing it yourself.

To complete your towing system, you'll also need the following:

Trailer wiring harness, part # 118496
Ball mount, part # D-4
1-7/8 inch trailer ball, part # 19260
2 inch trailer ball, part # 63845
Hitch Pin and Clip, # PC3
or
Locking hitch pin, part # e98881

We don't sell small utility trailers, so you'll need to look around locally in your area. If possible, avoid trailers manufactured offshore, like those at Harbor Freight that use Chinese bearings. There's nothing really wrong with the bearings, but it's really difficult to find replacements.
