Wire and Breaker Recommendation to Complete 12 volt Power Circuit on a 2006 Ford Explorer
Question:
Is a lenth of wire also needed to connect the black wire from the 7 pole connector to a 40amp circuit breaker and then to positive terminal on the Battery? I have a 2006 Ford Explorer.

The Curt Universal Wiring Kit for Trailer Brake Controllers # C51500 that you referenced comes with all the wiring to install a brake controller, but if you want to complete the 12 volt power circuit on the 7-way you will need to also purchase a 40 amp breaker like part # 9510 and then 10 gauge wire part # 10-1-1.
The # 10-1-1 is sold by the food so you would need to order a quantity of how many feet you would need. I would order longer than you think you will need just to be safe.
