Repair Kit Recommendation for Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler
Question:
My trailer needs a replacement channel tongue coupler. The Repair Kit for Fulton Channel Tongue Coupler with Hand Wheel Latch, 2inch to 2-1/8inch Ball - Code: F520801 looks like the exact part. My question is this, am I able to replace this part with a different type of coupler, such as Repair Kit for Husky Channel Tongue Trailer Couplers - 2inch Ball - 6,000 lbs: Code: HT87084 I dont know if those parts are interchangeable? The Repair Kit for Fulton Channel Tongue Coupler with Hand Wheel Latch, # F520801, fits the Fulton 308 series couplers.
The Repair Kit for Husky Channel Tongue Trailer Couplers, HT87084 (discontinued), fits the Husky 6,000 pound straight-tongue coupler for 2 inch hitch balls.
Since both of these parts were designed to fit different brands of couplers, I can not guaranty that these will interchange.
In order to determine which repair kit will work for you, I would just need to know the brand, weight capacity, and style or your trailer coupler. Once I have this information I would be happy to make a recommendation for you.
