What are the Measurements of Curt Trailer Hitch # C11000 Receiver Opening

To whom it may concern, I am interested in purchasing your Curt Trailer Hitch for the Volkswagen GTI, 2011. Its says 1 1/4. Does that mean the width of the receiving hole is 1 1/4? Thanks,

Yes, the opening of the Curt trailer hitch receiver # C11000, which you have referenced, will measure 1-1/4" x 1-1/4".

Please consult the vehicle owner's manual first if you plan on doing any towing.

The correct ball mount for use with this hitch and vehicle is # C45016. For a 1-7/8 inch ball use # 19256 and for a 2 inch ball use # 19258.

If you are not going to tow and instead use the hitch for something like a bike rack or cargo carrier, Curt recommends the use of stabilization strap # 18050 for all non-trailer loads to be in compliance with their warranty requirements.
