Wiring Adapter to Install Hopkins Brake Controller on 2014 Toyota Tundra

what type of brake controller is my tundra pre wired for? i have a hopkins controller and thed adapter that is supposed to be a direct fit but it will not hook up to my truck

Brake controllers aren't vehicle specific, but the wiring adapters used to join the controller to the plug under the dash are.

To install a Hopkins brake controller in a 2014 Tundra, you'll need part # HM47815. The connector should be located near the emergency brake pedal and the kick plate as shown in the provided photo. Keep in mind, if your truck is not equipped with the factory 7-way connector, it might not have the connector for the brake controller.

If you don't have the connector, you'll need to hardwire the controller using our Brake Controller Install Kit, part # ETBC7. The kit includes an adapter that would plug into the existing 4 pole trailer connector.
