Resistor Used for LED Fog Lights Does Not Last Long

I keep having the the resistor that steps down the 12v current to something that the LEDs can handle my question is what wattage or voltage do the actual LEDs require so that I can purchase a resistor with a little more longevity. . .

I think I have a better solution for your LED lights. Instead of reducing the current (and it would be stepping down the amperage, not the voltage) you could put more load on the system so that the LED lights will work. You just need some load resistors such as # DI34ZR.
