How to Gain Clearance Between 5th Wheel Trailer Overhang and Bed Rails by Adjusting Height of Hitch

How do u raise the hitch for more. Clearance from sides of truc Reese hitch rock wood 2013 signature ultra lite fifth wheel

On the sides of the Reese fifth wheel hitch there will be a set of bolts that hold the head of the hitch to the legs of the hitch. If you remove the bolts and then reinstall them using the bolt holes lower than the ones previously used you will have increased the overall height of the hitch which will give you additional clearance between the overhang of the trailer and the bed rails of the truck.
The ideal setup will be to have at least 4-6 inches between the trailer's overhang and the bedrails while the trailer sits completely level from front to back. So don't go straight for the tallest setting your hitch has unless the nose of your trailer is pointed too far down to be level.
