Trimming Underbody Panel to Install a Trailer Hitch on a 2014 Toyota Highlander
Question:
I understand that the under body panel needs to be trimmed with # C13200? Will that also apply for any of the other suggested options at e-trailer.com? Will trimming also be required for the Original Toyota Highlander 2014 Hitch? While I understand that trimming will no be noticeable, I am a bit skeptical with a brand new SUV. Thanks!

On all of the trailer hitches we carry for the 2014 Toyota Highlander you will either have to remove the panel or trim the panel for hitch installation. The panels in questions cover up the area of the frame where the hitches will attach. I would imagine that the factory hitch is the same way though I cannot verify that. I have included a link to the hitch instructions for # C13200 so you can see the area that needs to be trimmed.
To complete your towing set up I recommend etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It includes 2 ball mounts, 2 balls, a hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag. And to add trailer wiring use # 118449.
