I will be pulling a 29ft travel trailer dry weight 5050#. Do the hitch weights need to match tongue weights of your vehicle? I see rating on these hitches of 600 TW 10K GTW / 800 TW 12K GTW and so on.

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow, this figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. Since your tongue weight is 600 lbs you will want a system that 600 lbs falls right into the middle of it's range.

For that I would recommend the Strait-Line Weight Distribution System # RP66083 as this system is rated for tongue weights of 400-800 lbs and has a sway control system that works to stop sway before it starts.

For a hitch ball with a 2 inch diameter you would want the # A-90, for a 2-5/16 inch ball part # 19286.

I attached an FAQ article on weight distribution for you to check out as well.
