Question:
I have a 2013 Toyota Sienna XLE with a Curt class III hitch already installed. i need to add the wiring harness to be able to hook up to a 5 pin connector to tow a boat trailer. What will I need to add to the hitch alone to be able to do that. Ball and wiring harness? Thanks for your help.

To install a 5-pole flat trailer connector on your Sienna, you have two alternatives. You can use the modulite kit, part # 118498 that would plug inline with the connection between the vehicle wiring harnesses and the rear of the taillight assemblies and a power wire would be ran to the vehicle battery. You'd then use an adapter like part # 47515, with the extra wire on the vehicle side getting tapped into the circuit that feeds the reverse lamps.
Your other option would be a hardwired modulite, part # 119177KIT. This harness would need to be spiced into the existing vehicle wiring, but because it has the 5-pole trailer connector, no adapter would be needed. The kit includes a circuit tester. You'd have a helper activate the lighting functions, while you probe the wires in the taillight harness with the tester. Tap the yellow wire into the circuit that carries the left turn circuit, the brown wire into the running light circuit, the green wire into the right turn signal circuit and the red wire into the brake lamp circuit. The white wire grounds to the trailer frame and the blue wire taps into the reverse lamp circuit. Since the reverse lamps are located on the liftgate of the Sienna, you'll need to locate the reverse lamp circuit in the wiring harness that runs behind either the right or left taillight assembly.
For a ball mount, I'd recommend the # 2753. The coupler of your boat trailer should have the proper ball size stamped on it. For a 1-7/8 inch ball, use the # 19260 or # 63845 for a 2 inch ball.
Given the two alternatives, I'd personally go with the # 119177KIT, so I didn't have to mess with an adapter.
