Can a Yakima Roof Rack for a 2001 Nissan Frontier Fit a 2012 Hyundai Tucson

Question:

I just sold my 2001 Nissan Frontier Crew cab. I would like to transfer my Yakima rack system to a 2013 Hyundai Tucson. From what I can see I will need to change out the clips to a Q99 and Q116. I also need new roof rack foot pads. What pad letter do I purchase for the Hyundai? Thank you,

The 2012 Hyundai Tucson does require Q99 clips and Q116 clips. The correct Landing Pads will be included. But for reference the front pad is E and the rear pad is A. The other issue is that the bars used on the Frontier are the 48 inch bars. But the Tucson requires 58 inch bars, # Y00409. These Q-Clip components are no longer made by the manufacturer so I recommend upgrading to a different roof rack.

My recommendation for your 2012 Tucson is the Inno Roof Rack # INXB108-115, # INXS200, and # INK605. This roof rack will give you a factory look with aero bars that will reduce wind noise compared to your old round bars. For the price point and quality, I think this is an excellent option.
