Wiring 4-Way And 7-Way Connector On 2004 Jeep Liberty To Tow Popup Camper

Question:

Hi- Can I use an ETBC7 and a C56175, together, to wire my 2004 Jeep Liberty to pull a pop-up trailer? Thanks,

If you are wanting a 7-way connector at the back of your 2004 Jeep Liberty and you have brakes on your pop-up trailer, and you currently have no connector installed, part # C56175, and part # ETBC7, will do just that. I have attached a helpful article that explains how to install the # ETBC7 you can check out.

You will also need a brake controller. I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Brake Controller, part # 90885. This is our more popular brake controller because it is easy to install and use. I have included some helpful articles about brake controllers.

If your pop-up trailer has no brakes, for a much simpler way to add the 4-way connector, I recommend part # 42475. There is no cutting or taping when installing this connector.

You could then use an adapter like part # 30717. This will plug into the 4-way connector and gives you the 7-way connector at the rear of your Liberty. I have attached a photo of this adapter that shows what each of the wires is connected to on your vehicle. If this is the way you decide to go I recommend a mounting bracket for the 7-way connector like part # 18138.

When working with electrical connectors I recommend using dielectric grease like part # 11755. This keeps dirt and moisture out of the connectors and helps prevent corrosion.
