Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock Will Not Lock  

Question:

I have installed the anti rattle lock on my 2 inch hitch and i can get the lock on but can not get it to lock into place, The lock portion works but is not grasping the little indent ring inside the lock barrel, how can i go about to make it lock? thanks.

Make sure that when you put the locking portion on the pin that it isn't already locked. I have done that before.You will know that the unit is locked if you can pull the key out. When unlocked the key cannot come out.

Make sure that the pin is threaded in all the way. And when locking the lock, you may need to hold the lock housing with one hand and turn the key with the other to key it steady and make sure it fully engages.

Some OEM 2 inch trailer hitches are wider on the outsides than others. This could cause the pin not to reach far enough. This seems to be an issue on Toyotas and some GM trucks.

If the mechanism isn't turning then spray in some WD40 and let it set for awhile. Then operate the key to work it in.
