Parts Recommendation for Installing a Brake Controller in a 2008 Cadillac Escalade ESV
Question:
So, if my Cadillac escalade ESV 2008 have factory tow package, do i still need to install the break control? or, automatically, when I push the break pedal it will work with the breaks on the trailer?

The tow package on your 2008 Cadillac Escalade will include a trailer hitch and trailer wiring, but it does not include a brake controller. To activate your trailer brakes you will need to purchase and install a brake controller.
The brake controller we recommend the most is the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is the best selling controller on the market because of how easy it is to set up and use, and how well it works.
To install this controller you will need to mount the controller in your dash and then wire the controller to the brake controller harness under your dash. Check out the FAQ article and install video that details how this would be done on your vehicle.
