Hey Aaron,
If your 2023 Ford Explorer XLT has a factory tow package connector back at the rear of the vehicle then you can use the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C55664.
If you don't have a factory tow package connector then you'll first need to install the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56093. This has connectors that will plug into your tail light wiring and will have one wire to run up to the battery for power. Once installed you can then install the # ETBC7 in order to get a 7-way. I recommend picking up a no-drill bracket # 18136 to make mounting the 7-way socket easier.
From there you'll also need a brake controller to activate the brakes. I recommend going with the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED24FR because it's easy to read and use and requires the least amount of space. With the Plug-and-Play Wiring Harness # RED87FR the install will be really easy.
