Can I Hollow Shank Be Used w/ a Curt Weight Distribution Hitch?
Question:
I searched the site and couldnt find an answer to my question. Can a hollow shank be used with a Curt equalizing hitch, or must a solid steel shank be used? Pulling a 5000 trailer. TIA

Yeah that's not an easy yes or no so it makes sense why you can't find it. It totally depends on the hollow shank, the bolt spacing, and what the instructions say on your Curt weight distribution system.
The hole spacing on a standard weight distribution shank like item # C17123 is 1-1/4" so you'll want to verify whatever hollow shank you're looking at has that first.
If you would like to send me a part number off of your Curt weight distribution hitch I would be happy to look it up for you and give you a yes or no answer.
