Hi Dan, I can definitely help you out with this.

To start, since your 2021 Tundra can tow 9,200 to 9,900 pounds, it should have no issues pulling a 2022 Forest River Salem 27RE. That said, you are getting pretty close to your truck's capacities so a weight distribution system is highly recommended. So let's get into that.

When picking a system that will work best for you, your fully loaded tongue weight (trailer) should fall in the middle (or as close as possible) of the weight distribution system's capacities. With the Forest River you are looking at weighing 7,583 pounds and tongue weight typically being 10% to 15% of that weight, the Reese Strait-Line # RP66084 would be the one I recommend for you. This can handle tongue weights ranging from 600 pounds to 1,200 pounds, so your camper would be right in the sweet spot. This also has very good sway control and actively fights it instead of reacting to it, like other systems. Little pricey, but I think it's worth it.

I couldn't find the coupler size that comes on the Salem 27RE so you would need to either ask or measure to determine that. It will either be a 2" or a 2-5/16", so you would either need the 2" ball # A-90 or 2-5/16" ball # 19286 depending on which it is.
