Trailer Brake Controller Installation on a 2011 Ford Edge SEL All Wheel Drive
Question:
Hi, I have a 2011 Ford Edge SEL AWD with the trailer towing package. Is there a wiring harness available to make it easy to put a brake controller on this vehicle? Please let me know. Thank you.

Your 2011 Ford Edge does not have a quick-connect under-dash connection port for a brake controller as some vehicles do. So your application for a trailer brake controller like the excellent Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885 will require a hard-wired installation.
You will need a brake controller installation kit, part # ETBC7, to complete installation. A video on this part is provided for reference. If your vehicle does not have a 4-pole trailer connector in place already you will also need a wiring harness # C56120, which requires minimal splicing of wires thanks to its T-Connectors that plug in at your tail lights.
An article on types of brake controllers and one on installations are included to assist you.
