Replacement AC Condenser Units For A Dometic Brisk II 15,000 BTU System

Question:

I need a plug and play Replacement for a 15K dometic brisk II ducted. Replacement does not have to be Dometic but does have to have a metal pan and be heat strip applicable. Would be open to a heatpump also.

Hi John,

So we do offer plug-and-play replacements for your Dometic unit, but the options we offer require that you have the same branded controller to plug in a heat strip. This means you would need to replace the entire system in order to have a heat strip or reach out to Dometic for a compatible replacement.

If you're fine with losing the heat pump then the next step is remove the cover for the air distribution box and look for the wire harness that connects the rooftop condenser unit to the controller so that you can see if you have a 6-pin or 9-pin connector.

If you have a 6-pin connector the Advent Air # ACM150B would be a compatible replacement. If you have a 9-pin connector then you'll also need an adapter # ACCOLKIT to connect to the controller.

If you want to have a heat strip then you'll need a complete replacement of the entire system with the Advent Air Low Profile RV AC w/ Air Distribution Box, Start Capacitor, and Heat Strip - 15,000 Btu # ASA78YR (black) or white # ASA26YR.

We don't currently offer an option with a heat pump so if that is more what you're looking for then I recommend reaching out to Dometic.

Kevin, So the advent is a direct replacement for a ducted dometic brisk II 9105304475? All that may be needed is a harness adapter? The inside panel does not need to be replaced? Thanks, John

@John The rooftop units of most RV air conditioner systems are just a condenser with the controller for the system typically mounted to the air distribution box (portion you see inside the trailer). They typically come with a 6-pin or 9-pin connector (depending on if they have a heat pump or not) so this portion of the system is usually replaceable without any issues. Dometic does like to mount the controller for some of their units inside the rooftop condenser unit so you might have to remove it prior to removing the rooftop unit and find a way to either mount it in the air distribution box or inside the new Advent unit # ACM150B shroud. This new unit comes with a 6-pin connector so if you find that your system utilizes a 9-pin connector you'll need the adapter # ACCOLKIT. The adapter will allow you to connect to the system but the extra functions (heat pump) will be lost if you have one. If any other component (air distribution box, thermostat, or controller) breaks then you would have to replace the rest of the system.
