Are 2 Power Wires Required When Installing T-One and ETBC7L On 2023 Kia Sorento
Question:
I have a 2023 Kia Sorento X-Line SX Prestige and considering adding a class 3 hitch. My question is if I purchase the T-one kit TK26FR and the ETBC7L for power to charge brake away battery and Curt wireless controller do I have to run 2 power wires to the battery or can I just use 1? If you suggest 2 because of the supplied fuses, what if I place the supplied fuses on the hitch end and a larger fuse on the battery end? Thank you and have a blessed day

Expert Reply:
The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # TK26FR is going to require its own power wire separate from the power wire for the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit # ETBC7L. These should not be combined as it could lead to damage to the wiring should they draw more power than the wire is rated for. We do have the 7-Way # ETBC7 which uses a duplex wire if you want a cleaner look or we also have the Tekonsha OEM Replacement Vehicle Wiring Harness # TK24FR which is a single harness. Either harness would allow you to use the Curt Echo # C51180 or you could use a cab mounted controller like the Redarc # RED63RR which I find has a lot less issues than the Curt Echo since you do not have to worry about Bluetooth connection.
