Trailer Ramp Spring Recommendation for 90x74 Trailer Door

Question:

I want to purchase one of your Conventional Ramp Door Spring for 8 Wide Enclosed Trailer - Dual Spring units for my 2004 Cargo Mate rear ramp door 16’x8’ V-nose cargo trailer. The door has lower springs that are mounted on the hinge which donot work well. The door size is 90” wide x 74” high. I do not know the weight of the door. My question is what weight Capacity would you recommend the 250-lb, 230-lb or 185-lb? Thank you

Thanks for reaching out, Dennis!

I recommend going with the 230 lb capacity Conventional Ramp Door Spring for 8' Wide Enclosed Trailer # 362SA8HD for your application. Although I don't know the exact weight of your trailer door, according to my research your door should weigh in somewhere a little over 200 lbs so this ensures that most (if not all) of the weight of your door can be handled by the spring.

Thanks Jon for the reply. The 230lb unit is what I was thinking too. At 77 Year old my door get heavier every year.
